I've heard he enjoys eating batteries, since there is a screw that holds his battery cover on will the CM's in any store have a screwdriver to undo it for me or is there special places to go for battery changes? I already plan on bringing extra batteries, just need to know where to go to use a scewdriver.

thanks!!!!

I had my Pal Mickey "on" for four straight days and he never ran out of power.

A friend of mine had their Pal Mickey on for 7 days without switching it to off and it didn't need any new batteries.

We bought our Pal Mickey in September the 2nd day of our trip. I wore him all over the parks for five days; haven't turned him off yet, and the batteries are still working. :)

We bought our Pal Mickey in May. We are going to take him back for a visit in January, where can we get him "updated". Is there somewhere outside the parks? When we took him to the Magic Kingdom in May he wasn't working right and they zapped him in the Penny Arcade on Main Street. We missed anything he says entering the park. We would like him to work when we arrive this time. Any ideas?

plutojudy;
When we recently purchased Pal Mickey, we were told to make sure his nose was pointing down when going into each parks turnstile to keep him updated. Didn't have any problems with him at all. Batteries were still working after 10 day's and DSIS will be taking him back 12/26 using the same batteries from our visit(11/28/03). Susan

We used Mickey 14 days over two trips without changing the batteries. If you do need to change them,the slot in the screw on the battery cover is designed so that you can use a coin to turn it if you don't have a screwdriver.

O.k. call me the disney dingy but what is pal-mickey? I have been every year since 96 and sometimes twice and have never heard of it. I am going back in 2 weeks and thought maybe it might be something that I might need.

Thanks Disney Dianne

Thanks all for the battery answers, for some reason I thought back in the spring people were saying he ate batteries. Now I won't worry about taking so many.

Poohs Pal, thanks for the tip of pointing the nose down.

DisneyDianne, in short he is a plush that gives you info as you walk thru the parks. At home he plays games and tells jokes. If you ordered the current Disney Planning DVD on the interactive map section they have him talking in a few spots. This is my first trip with him though I have him already at home (cute games, silly jokes) so I can't wait to see all he says.

Here is a link to Deb's site with info on him...

Thanks all :-)

I purchased him Dec. 6 and used him in the parks until Dec. 13. His original batteries are still going strong. My children 9 and 7 love their Pal Mickey. I didn't need to attach it to anything because my 7 year old daughter would never put it down. It was great fun in the parks.

One day we were in DTD shopping and Mickey told us the parade was in 30 minutes. We thought that was funny! He gets confused sometimes. It was the best $60.00 that we spent.
