We are going to WDW from Sept 29-Oct 5 and was thinking about going to mnsshp on Oct 2. We have never been and wanted to know if dd (who will be just over two) would like it. Any advice from those who have done it with small children. Someone mention Mickey's BBQ might be fun as well. Please help!

We were there last October with my DS 4 and my DD 2. (She turned 2 in June) MNSSHP was the BEST thing we did and I would not miss it. We stayed till about 10:00 and she had fallen asleep by that time. Still, we got on tons of rides and the sight of my two dressed up in their costumes at WDW was something I'll never forget.

We are going again this year on the 16th!!!

MY friend went to the barbeque and she and her family didn't like it. They thought the food was horrible. Not worth the $$. However, The Hoop de Doo is great fun, even for a two year old. The music is catchy, the food is yummy and if you catch an early show, your DD will enoy herself. So will you!

Have fun! :cool1:

Thanks for the info. I had heard mixed things about the BBQ and was unsure. DW and I did The hoop dee doo on our honeymoon. I will have to look into it.

We attended Mickey's backyard bbq on our last trip. We had a fun time, and thought the food was good. I think its one of those things you have to have a minimal amount of interest in, in order to really enjoy. Y'know, different tastes for different folks.

Basically, the BBQ is in a big covered pavilion. Its western-themed, with a CW band, and man/woman co-hosts. When we went, they featured a trick rope artist, which sounds pretty corny, but was actually pretty impressive. Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Chip and Dale dance and mug with everybody. They also have some fun with line dancing.

Like I said, we enjoyed it. Next time, we'll probably go to Hoop-De-Doo revue, just to try something new.

The Halloween party is soooo much fun! You (even the adults) are given a treat bag when you enter and you trick or treat at the candy stations through out the park. The park lights are turned down and shadow pictures appear on the buildings of Main Street as you walk up it to upbeat yet spooky music. The characters are out in costume signing autographs and posing for pictures. The parade is woderful and the temperatures are moderate. We thoroughly enjoyed it. Our girls are now 8 and almost 10 and enjoyed dressing up in their princess costumes also. If you are already planning to be there during a party night I thoroughly recommend it. Also, if you possess an AP some of the dates have disount tickets for AP holders.

Thanks for all of the info. I really appreciate it. You have given me a lot to think about.

We were there last October (DS had turned 2 in July). We did Hoopdeedoo (DS LOVED it) and MNSSHP...again..DS LOVED it. Lots of people said he was too young and wouldn't enjoy it. He had a blast!!!! It's so much fun for adults too. I say go for it!! I'm glad we did!!!
