yet another iPod question.....

Got the kids Nano's for Christmas. Figured out the song downloads...I think! A couple questions though:

1) Do I have to keep all those songs in the library in itunes forever?? Cause when I did one cd...I somehow miraculously got them on the ipod and then erased them from the library....when we went to do the next cd....and connected...it erased all the previous cd songs (that I had erased)

2) also, could someone give me step by step (simple) directions to download pics?? I download pics...well actually my memory stick just clicks in my laptop and goes into its own drive (whatever you call it)....it is a Sony....I can't figure it out....

Oh...and just a quick laptop question....I just got this in Oct...a Sony Vaio and sometimes, like just now, the screen blinks...super quick...but doesn't shut off or nothing....anyone know the cause???

I can help you with #1. Any change you make on iTunes (deleting, adding tunes, renaming...) will also be changed on your iPod when you next plug your iPod into your computer. In order to get rid of tunes on your iPod, you must also get rid of them on your iTunes. There MAY be a setting where you can select only certain tunes for going into your iPod, not sure, I'm sure someone else knows. So, as I understand it, yes, you do need to keep tunes you want on your iPod, on iTunes.

Each of them can have their own playlist. You can go into options I believe and tell it to only update the songs added to Playlist A when downloading A's iPod.

DH and I both have iPod's but we don't like the same kind of music. All of our songs are in the library but I have chosen the ones I want and put them in my library and did the same for him. Now when I update my iPod it only adds the songs in my playlist.
