I have been reading all the advice on insurance, but I could not find this anywhere & the man I just spoke with from insuremytrip.com was not particularly helpful & would not give the phone# of insurance co. so I could try to clarify. So, of course, I'm turning to the REALLY knowledgeable folks here for some help! ;)

We will be driving to Florida from Ohio to catch our cruise. Should we (heaven forbid) be in an accident that would prevent us from catching the ship, is this covered? Does anyone have experience with this? We are looking at Travelex Plus...it seems to have everything we are looking for & then some, but I can't seem to get my question answered regarding this. Access America is more than double in price & I felt the agent I spoke w/ kept sidestepping questions I had & kept leaving things to my interpretation...that's dangerous!

Thanks for any answers or feedback RE Travelex!

Someone should be able to give you in writing what the policy is. In fact, they should be able to email it to you! When we got our insurance, I read through everything very carefully. My understanding was that if I could not make the cruise because of travel problems, or sickness, ect. that it would be covered.
I was worried that our car would break down on the way or something (we drove down from NC), and that was an added reason why I bought insurance. Our insurance for four for a 7 day was around $173.00. Thank goodness we didn't have to use it!

Thank you, jollytammy, for your reply. I read thru & have the feeling I had gotten stuck with a grumpy (or ill-informed) rep from access america b/c the policy I've read from Travelex is very clear about missing the cruise due to a traffic accident. The rep from aa kept saying it had to be a common carrier (which my van feels like sometimes, but is not  ) & the pkg from Travelex has that as a definition, but also in a completely different item states that a traffic accident w/ a police report is a legitimate reason to file a claim. Good grief, I just want to be in my happy place!! :earsboy:
