Yet another HH ?, re: restaurants in walking distance, prices,

I've almost got hubby talked into adding on at HH!! I've visited Tommy's website but I have more restaurant questions. What are the prices like and how about "family" type places. I hate to waste a lot of money on meals since my little ones don't eat very much and the food would mostly go in the trash. Are there any real reasonably priced (but descent) places to eat near the resort that would be good to go to with the kids?

There is the Hilton Head Diner, down the road a bit from DVC that is a family place that is most popular for breakfast, but serves sandwiches as well.

In the other direction is a Cracker Barrel which is family oriented as well. You also have McDonald's, Wendy's, and Taco Bell close enough.

There are many pizza places, and they do deliver to DVC.

Thinking it over, there are probably more "bar and grills" and sports bars than family dinning places. But I don't like the smokey atmosphere of those places, and I always seem to find a place to eat that is within my budget. We usually limit ourselves to two "fancy" resturants during our week visit. That's the beauty of DVC. We can COOk in the room.

Denise, you will have your choice of restaurants. Every major chain is represented in HH and there are many local restaurants which are very good as well. I have two young boys so I recognize your problem.

When we stayed there last month we also went the pizza delivery route. It wasn't NY-NJ pizza, but the boys were happy. I'm sure your kids will be happy as well.

In addition to the helpful comments already posted, there is Giuseppi's Pizza (within walking distance- albeit a looong walk) and a Fudruckers (same spot) down near the Piggly Wiggly maket. Both are certainly family spots and within most budgets! Enjoy!
