Yup, it's another question on digital cameras....

I just bought today a Fuji FinePix A210 digital camera at Target. The camera has 3.2 megapixels and 3x optical zoom. It was on clearance for 149.88. My questions are:

Does anyone have this camera?

Do you like it?

We do not have a digital and thought for the price this seemed to be a good deal. Can anyone give me some opinions (good or bad) on this camera. We love our regular camera and will still use that most of the time, but thought it was time to venture into the digital world. :D

Thanks for any input you guys can give me.

My daughter has that camera and loves it. It takes GREAT pictures and I expect you will enjoy it a great deal. Don't be surprised if you find you like digital better than film.
You purchased a nice camera and paid a nice price too. Good going. :)

I have a Fuji 2600 and really enjoy it. I wasn't sure if I would prefer the digital or my point and shoot 35 mm, but it only took one trip to learn to love the digital. I use the viewer to screen the photos when I take them. This saves getting home to find out a photo was way too dark or was washed out, etc. I burn all of the photos to a CD when I get home to preserve the original images before any editing is done. One great thing is that I don't have to wait 'til I have a chance to take the film to my local camera shop for developing to see what the pictures look like.

Also, the digital fits so nicely in my fanny pack. The batteries are rechargeable and that will save money over the camera battery in your film camera. But you will need a larger smart memory card than came with it. I have a couple of 128's, a couple of 64's, a 32, a 16, and the one that came with the camera. This gives me lots of storage and options when we travel.

I have Adobe Photo Elemets photo editing software and use it to adjust contrast, color, get rid of red-eye, etc. and then save the images to one of my smart media cards. I take the card to my local Eckerd and have prints made of only the shots I want for the photo album. This cost $0.29/image and they look just like regular photos. While this is approximately twice the cost of developing film images, I save the cost of film and the cost of developing images that were bad photos and images that I don't want to put in the photo album.

Like Gail said, you will be surprised how quickly you will learn to love digital.

I have another model of Fuji's FinePix and so far I love it. The only thing I don't really like from it is the small flash and that the flash isn't that bright. Some of my night time pictures are really ruddy and dark.

I think for a first time user of digital cameras, it's a good investment. I personally would like to upgrade to one with more flash power, and more manual overrides.

However, I think you'll find it's easy to use, easy to carry, colors are pretty good and for the price, pretty good overall.

Thanks everyone!!! I've been casually looking at Digital cameras for a few months now and thought this camera might be a decent one, but wasn't sure. Now I feel like this should be fine for us and am more comfortable about our first digital camera purchase.

Thanks Gail for that quick response. I was hoping you would take pity on me and respond. I've read past threads and it seemed to me that you are very knowledgable on this topic and if this was a camera you would reccommend than I did good. :D

Now it's time to load up the software and start taking pictures.

Thanks again! (and DH thought I was a little nuts (even if he didn't say anything, but I knew that look  ) when I said I was going to post a thread to see if any DIS friends could help us out.)
