10 lashes with a wet noodle for me if this question has been posted before . Rumor has it that disney is offering free dining next 8/5-9/30. If I book a trip using my points but purchase a MYW ticket from Disney would I be eligible? or is it only for guest paying rack rates?

It's only for those paying rack rates, so if you want "free" dining (and I use that term loosely) you have to pay rack rate for your DVC unit. This is a booking incentive, and there is no need for an incentive to book on points.

There may or may not be free dining. The promo has already been marketed to the UK, and now it is being offered to current guests @ WDW as an incentive to book/deposit a trip before they check-out. I guess whether or not it will be offered to the general public would depend on the occupancy levels when the on-site promo ends in December.

Ya gotta pay cash at rack rate for the free dining plan - at least that's what they offered in the past. It's an incentive to fill the rooms when there is not as great a desire to be at WDW.
