I am about to purchase a pair of crocs online. I do not really like the original style ones but i think the athens flip flops are nice. I want to get a pair for me and DH but i have not heard many say they wore then to Disney so my questions are:

1. Are the athens flip flops comfortable to wear all day in the parks

2. Is there anywhere i can get them for a discount (even if very small)??

I Love,Love,Love my Athens!!! They are so comfy..and they get better everytime i put them on.
Not sure about a discount, i got them at Dick's sporting goods for $29.99.

I love my Athens. I will be wearing them at WDW in September. They do run a little big so be sure to try them on if possible.

I got mine at Dillards for 29.99. I LOVE them!! I have not worn them to the park yet but plan too. I wore them for 2 days and then I wore my cute leather one's and my feet were killing me. The crocs are what I will wear in the park.

Maybe its just my feet but I tried them on and thought they were horrible! I am used to flip flops of all kinds so I know its not that. The toe post was really hard and had a sharp seam that rubbed my second toe. I thought maybe it was a defect with that pair so I tried on more; same exact thing!
They may work for you but I would recommend trying them on before you buy. I was so disappointed; I wanted to love them like I do my Caymens!

I also purchased mine at Dick's Sporting Goods for $29.99. I found a website with no tax and free shipping (extemefootwear.com) and they were also $29.99. I'm glad that I didn't purchase them online, I would have gotten a size too large - they run very big!

I noticed that you are in NY, where did you happen to purchase yours??

I love my Athens so, so much. I have yet to do WDW in them, but I wear them whenever I don't have to wear "big girl shoes". They do feel a little odd the first time you put them on, but mine are molded to my feet now and are so comfortable. I've gone from someone who goes barefoot all the time to someone who wears her "overpriced" (DBF just doesn't understand) flip-flops around the apartment.

Also, I'm glad they run big! The biggest size they had at my local shop in the color scheme I wanted was a 10, and I wear a 11! :teeth:

I am wearing mine to the parks too. I just love them. I purchased the Teva mush flip flops online after reading about them on these boards but I still like the crocs better.

I have a lot of health problems, especially achey legs/feet with poor circulation and I wore my Croc flip flops (after the advice on the Dis boards- thanks to all of you) all week at disney last week. My feet didn't start bothering me until our last evening there (started getting blisters, but had been a little sweaty that day). My legs didn't get cramps or ache, yes my legs felt weak and tired, but they weren't throbbing in pain like they normally do. I love my Crocs a lot and even though they still stick out from regualt flip flops at least they are comfy to wear. I definetly recommend these shoes, but make sure to get them at least a few weeks before your trip and try to wear them as much as possible before the trip (I had mine for about a month and wore them every day).

Good Luck.

Love mine...haven't worn them in the parks yet. But love them...being a dancer, my feet 'crave' these after long rehearsals!

I just bought a knock off version at payless called airwalks. ($10.00) Does anyone know how these compare I'm still considering getting the real deal.

I bought a pair of the Athen's flip flops - I'm a croc believer, all I wear - lol some of my friends are pointing their finger at me saying I started a trend!! :rotfl2: DH is taking note now that the Colorado Avalanche are wearing them!! :rotfl2:

The flip flops - jury still out - I have a plantar fascia - bone spur type thing on the heel of one foot - the pain can be so intense I cant walk - crocs align my feet, give the heel a good "bed" and I'm good to go!! (and I HATE ugly... they're ugly... function over fashion *sigh!)

The heel bed for the athens is higher than the base of the toe area - not noticiable I'm sure - fractions... my heel doesnt feel as "secure" the resin seems "stiffer" but maybe I need to wear them more than one hour!! :lmao:

I agree with the above poster on the thickness of the divider post between the toe - little thick, and a seam, I may try and find a tool to sand it down!! I bought online, no tax, no shipping charges -

I found them at our local sporting goods store - Sports Authority!! ($29) they have limited colors, but you can at least try them on!!

I'm going to order a pair of the fuscia regular!! And the croc butter to keep them shiny!! :goodvibes

I cant say on the Payless Style - many have posted they are "just as good" I did try the Target knock offs - and no way would I let dd have a pair, they felt like plastic, no molding to the heel, I can see lots of sweat forming in those - and the strap came inside to much, so I could see a blister forming on my foot in that shoe from Target - others may have no problem, me, I have problems!!

I tried the airwalk ones and they are not NEAR as comfortable as the 'real' ones...at least not in my opinion. The Croc ones are so squishy and soft...the others were very rigid. I wanted to try them to compare...the airwalks are half the price...but you get what you pay for ;)

Has anyone tried the Nile pair yet? I am debating if I should get the Athens or the Nile. :confused3

Both my DDs just got a pair in the Beach model. I thought for sure I would like the Athens... I thought they looked much better. I ended up not buying them thought. They were super wide and I have wide feet. As other posters have warned they do run big. I usually wear a 7 and the 6 fit me in the Athens but as I said they were way too wide. I'm going back (to Dick's Sporting Goods) for a Beach pair for me this week!

I actually saw them in the hallmark store at my local mall and they had both the beach and athens. I liked how the athens looked better online. Just too big and wide i think. I ended up getting the beach but i think my DH will like the Athens so i will be getting him a pair after he sees them and tries it on.

Thanks everyone !!! :)

BTW- i love my beach style crocs, i have only worn them in the house but they feel really cushy and airy. I bought the fake ones from sears and returned them today; not worth it after trying these.
