Yet another add-on question

I'm not even a member yet (although we passed ROFR on Tuesday), and I'm already thinking about an add-on . I'll have an August UY and will probably buy another 50 points direct from Disney. My question is this: At what point in time would I need to purchase the additional points to be able to bank them (I'm assuming I would still be getting 2007 points)? I then assume I'd get another 50 points on August 1? I'm really trying to keep up with how everything works so I'll be ready, but it's all so confusing

Also, how are the maintenance fees handled for add-ons? Are the pro-rated?

I've purchased add-ons for my Use Year well past my banking deadlines and was still allowed to bank all the points. Call your guide to verify, but I'm pretty sure that's the policy.

Yes, the maintenance fees are pro-rated.

I am a new member and currently waiting to close on a resale. I already have a guide assigned to me because I explored the direct thru disney option as well as resale and he said he would still be my guide after the resale closes. I would guess if you haven't been in contactd with Disney yet, you will be assigned a guide. I give a good recommendation to my guide, Jim McCoy, very available. Hope this helps.

This is the reported policy for add on contracts purchased directly from Disney. I have not heard anyone say that it is the policy for resale contracts.

OP: If you are buying a contract with an August use year and want to bank 2007 use year points, you do not need to worry. Under the old rules, you would have until the end of January 2008 to bank 2007 use year points.

When the new rules start on 1/1/2008, your deadline will be extended until the end of March 2008.

Since you have already passed ROFR, you will have plenty of time to bank any 2007 points you cannot use.

Hmmm, that leads me to another question. I'm buying a resale, but I did talk to a Disney guide several times back in August or September when I ordered the information packet and DVD. I miraculously still have her name, and I'm wondering if I should contact her and let her know about the resale purchase and that I'll be interested in an add-on fairly soon.
