We are splitting our stay starting with WDW this Monday then enjoying UO/IA Sun, Mon with a stay at HRH(also planning on trying to make a run to the Titanic expedition one of those days).
As for transportation using disney onsite trans to and from WDW parks. we have gotten a quote from Alamo who will be sending a shuttle to take us to Disney Car Care Center (anyone know where this is located) to rent an ecomony car for 2 days. Total quote with taxes, etc came out to $60 and change. Does this seem reasonable or would we be better off taking a taxi?

the disney car center is on their grounds.
i can look it up on a map for you if you wish.

$60 ......is that for one 48 hour time period? did i read you correctly when you said it is for driving around on disney grounds?

30 a day is par. you could get a better deal with other companies. and if you keep it for 5 days, a better daily rate when you break it down.
if you park hop it is good to have a car.
but, it is better to park the car at epcot and take the monorail over to MK.
the parking at MK can be a bear and you lose time when you park in that lot to go to that park. you park and take the tram in to the TTC area then a monorail or ferry boat to the MK.

if you are using the car to transport to UO, you have to pay a $12 fee for each night you have a car -parked at the UO on site hotel.

Yeah, using it to drive from Pop Century to our stay at Hard Rock Hotel, and returning car 48 hrs later. Only needed something for 2 days and since we were needing transport to and from Disney in addition to taking my wife to see the Titanic expedition I thought a rental would probably be best. I heard Disney's Care Center was close to Mk but I have no idea how close.

taylor's dad, i listed 2 links for you so you should be able to find the disney car center without a problem. print out the directions.

they will pick you up and take you to the center to do the paperwork and pick up the car. when you return, drop the family off at the hotel if need be and they will return you to the destination where you need to be.

you are about 7 miles from MK if you are staying at PC.
from PC it is 15.1 miles to the car center.

i did a google search for the items and that is what came up.

sure hope this helps you.

enjoy your trip to universal !

you are welcome taylor's dad.

one thing to remember, you don't have to take the entire family over to the car center to get the car. call them and reserve in advance the time you want them to pick you up at pop.

they will drop you at the car center, you do the paperwork, get the car and then go pick up the family.

when you return the car, drop the family back off at pop first, then go to the car center. to be returned to the pop, you might have to wait a bit.

last sept/early october when i was down at the motherland, many were getting speeding tickets along that stretch.
go the speed limit. most just pay the high ticket as it would cost too much to fly back to go to court over a traffic ticket.
