Last month was my first trip to DLR...the first of MANY more....
(we are closer to WDW), but have now fallen completely IN LOVE w/ DLR.

NOW, thanks to DLR29 who posted on another thread about www.yesterland.com, I can visit Disneyland of yesteryear!!!!:cool1:

Who knew about this wonderful site????
Everyone, right?

Thanks again DLR29!!!:thumbsup2

Yep, I knew. It's directly connected to MiceAge. . . which I don't visit very often so sometimes I forget about it. ;)

That is so cool. How fun to look at all the old attractions. Some you remember, some you don't. Some you miss and some you are glad are gone. LOL

I really miss the Animazement show. I liked that a lot.

Amazing! Thank you for the flashbacks, I meant to look for a minute and got lost for almost an hour! I will definately be visiting there again! :thumbsup2

Yesterland is great. I just wish I hadn't gone through everything over there a dozen times!

I have been visiting Yesterland.com for well a long time. Well before they partnered with Miceage.

In reading about the Rocket Rods (which neither DH nor I ever saw), I ended up with a question.

When did Buzz Lightyear's Astro Blasters open? Was it only in '05?

Yes it opened up as part of the 50th anniversary.

I miss the rocket rods. I have fond memories of it because it was one of the few rides that my youngest actually liked. She even requested to ride in front.

Forget the Rocket Rods, I forever miss the People Mover. I love that MK still has their version, it's not as neat as DLs extinct PM but atleast it survives at WDW.

I miss the People Mover and the cool "Tron" effect - so high tech! :rotfl: I also miss Mission to Mars (those inflating seats were kind of a pleasant sensation) and the sky cars, they were the best way to get a view of (most of) the park......
Also gone but not forgotten - the Country Bear Jamboree! I loved those hillbilly bears......

Just at the 50th, wow.

See, what's crazy about that is that was our first trip back as adults (with our 1 year old) in Sept '05. I don't think we went on it, but then DH and DS accidentally went on it in Oct '06 when they tried to get in line for Astro Orbiter. Then I went on it in Sept 07, and we all just figured it had been there for ages!

It's weird, how much I "studied" for that first trip in '05 (just a one day trip so I wanted it to be chockful of goodness), but how very very little I knew, and how much more there is to learn!

After spending hours on that site, I'm all misty about the original Disneyland hotel being torn down .:sad1:
and don't get me started about seeing that picture of Aunt Jemima with the Navy Sailors....makes me want to cry all over again.:sad1:
