Just got off the phone with DH, who is still in Albuquerque for his conference, and got some (to me) good info from him! He agrees that his problem his last trip and the slight problem he had this trip was entirely due to (or at least started by) carsickness, which he'd never had before, and not due to altitude! (Made worse by altitude the first time, yes, started by, no) He says he LOVES Albuquerque and would consider living there at some point, and would love to go back for a trip again in the future! He's doing *fine* with the altitude with all his hiking from room to room to room doing more walking than in a typical WDW day, so he agrees he can handle that altitude just fine. And he *loves* seeing the Sandias.
You don't know how happy that makes me!!!!!!!!!! With how much I hate Houston, I've been toying with trying to convince DH to move to New Mexico or Colorado (desert environ somewhere) in the 5-10 year range (after I've gotten my Master's and our house has reached the point where it's no longer throwing your money away to move), and now there's more than a snowball's chance I can talk him into it!
And this opens up more vacation opportunities that I've always wanted to show him but he was afraid to see: Bryce, Canyonlands, Arches, Grand Canyon, Bisti wilderness....
