We will be at WDW/BWV for July 4th! I have many questions as I have never stayed at WDW during a major holiday(I have been there the wk before and after).

1. What is the best park to be in for the 4th?

2. Are there Illumination type cruises for the FW at Epcot?

3. Are there more than one FW show? ie: Illuminations at 9PM and then at midnight another FW show?

4. Does MK and MGM have added FW?

5. Do the parks have extended hours (past 9pm?)

6. Experienced 4thers - What have you done at WDW for the 4th?

Any and all advice suggestions extremely welcomed!:earsboy: :earsgirl: :earsgirl: :earsboy:
THANKS

Hello Sue!

You know how some people you remember from here? Well, I remember you!

So... to answer your questions (we were there last July 4th).

1. We did Epcot that evening and thoroughly enjoed Illuminations which started at 10:30pm (I think) and had a fantastic extra set of Fireworks afterwards. It was mindboggling! The most amazing thing we've ever seen!

2. I don't know.

3. One Illuminations show with fireworks afterwards.

4. MK will probably do 360 fireworks and MGM did have their Sorcery in the Sky (once a year) fireworks show.

5. Yes to extended hours.

6. We did a park in the morning (Animal Kingdom), then took a nice break and swam, napped then hit Epcot around 6ish. People were claiming spots around the lake by 7:15pm! It was very busy. After the show we took our time leaving and arrived back at POR at Midnight.

Have fun! Expect crowds that day! Enjoy the heat.

Wow!

have fun!

1. I'd pick the MK, even though it's going
to be CRAZY! Another Dis'er went on the
4th last year, and she commented that it
was very very busy. But, the fireworks for
the 4th (Fantasy in the Sky, btw) were all
around you -if it's what they did this NYE,
they mirrored the castle fireworks behind
the train station, and then had other fireworks
completely around you.

Now, having said that, the 4th is one of two
days a year that the Studios runs Sorcery in
the Sky -which IMHO is a really good show.
Lotsa people go to the Studios just to see
this show...
All the parks that do fireworks have special
FW for the 4th.

I'm gonna bet that the parks will all be open
late -MK till midnight, and others differing
hours -studios probably next latest...

I'd probably plan on doing what we did on
NYE -go early, and get out of whatever
park you started in. when the park gets
too busy for you.. run away!!!
You're staying onsite,
so you will be part of the last group of
guests not let back into a park. We had no
problems getting back into the MK on NYE,
even though the parks set records those days. Because
you're staying in the BWV, the EC fireworks
will be easy to get to and get home from..
So, any park that you go to see fireworks
will be a winner..... We've done EC and the
MK for the 4th, and the FW at the MK were
better...

Have fun!

We may be down there the same time -its
right around my DW's and my birthdays!
