Yes, Stitch is that bad!

Like the OP we were there on Thursday, walked right in, good thing, if we'd have had to wait for that I think DH would have been livid. Even the kids were let down after all the hype. I also posted a thread about this ride today on this board. We won't do this one again!

...I would suggest you experience Stitch first, before you take your DD in. We had a chance to see it in November, and while some of the humor was cute and my 12-year old DS enjoyed the show, much of it is very loud and takes place in the dark. There were several young children screaming and crying, and my heart was breaking for them (and their poor parents) because I knew they were trapped in their seats until the lights went back on and there was little their parents could do to comfort them. I just wanted the show to end. I went in first so that I could preview the show before we took our 4-year old DD in, and after seeing the show I decided against it. She would have been terrified.

I'm afraid I have to agree that this attraction is completely wrong for the target audience.

Ok - I should probably keep my mouth shut, but here goes. . .

Even if it's bad, what's to be 'livid' about? I didn't like Tiki Birds, but I certainly wasn't 'livid' just b/c I didn't enjoy it. Just confused, I guess, at the extreme over response to this attraction.

I guess it's upsetting because they have the some of the most imaginative people in the world working for them, and they come up with a lame, boring, and uninspired attraction like that. Obviously, they don't build new attractions often, and to use their limited resources on that bore is upsetting. After seeing it, I thought they should have left well enough alone and done something else. For the money all of us spend, they should have done better.

My DH and I saw the old AE. He loved it; I thought it was too scary. Never took my kids on it. Took them on Stich this X-mas. My scared 12 yo. DD loved it once she experienced it. MY scared 8 yo. DD is still a little scared by it, but goes with us. I'm glad they lightened up AE. Otherwise, the AE attraction was only enjoyed by DH. We go to WDW to enjoy family time. Stitch is a family attraction. It's not perfect, but I agree it's better than the TIKI birds which we didn't do at all this trip!

It's sad that the Imagineers now believe that belching is entertainment...more 'dumbing down of America"
Put it on the list as a major DON'T for us

I wholeheartedly agree, but must admit that I felt that way about Alien Encounter. I'm certain that the space could be put to better use.

... I SWEAR that I could smell that nasty chili dog burp on me the rest of the day (and we rode it first thing in the AM)!!!!! YUCK! What a crappy 'ride'!!!

I still have yet to see what Stitch is all about. From all of the negative comments I'm really hesitant to wait in a line to be this disappointed. I'm furious that they took out Alien Encounter, I never got to see that ride. :( Oh well. If it's a walk-on wait maybe I'll try it during my next trip ... In 25 days! :)

yeah I'm with you, I really want to try it just to see what it is about but I don't want to wait in line at all. I don't really like waiting in line for anything (thank god for fastpass) but especially something that is probably just a so so thing. It's a shame though b/c Stitch is such a good character.

hey dizprincess we'll be at the world the same week!

Part of what made me so upset about SGE is the promotion of it everywhere you go. It is on the TV, you see Stitch as you drive onto WDW property, he is all over the monorails. They build it up to be this wonderful attraction and then it is like they didn't put any effort at all into making it special.

We also went to Turtle Talk with Crush. Now that is an incredible attraction. Everyone walked out of there in amazement. And it isn't being touted anywhere. It wasn't even on the EPCOT maps. I sure don't understand Disney's marketing ideas.
