Traveling next month with DD-4 and DS-2 1/2. Staying at GF and plan on hitting all 4 parks. With monorail access, just wondering whether or not we really need to bring our double stroller? Anybody out there been through similar and lived to tell about it?;)

I would definetly bring a stoller.

Unless you want to carry them often. Walking at toddler speed can get old fast! Even though I am certainly no park-commando, there are times when you need to get to something at a faster pace then stopping to see every bug, vendor and bird!

I would definitely bring my stroller. I bring one for my 5 year old.

I would bring the stroller. We take ours every year and it makes life easier.

Our DS is 3 and our DD is 10 months. This will be our first trip in September with two kids. We are taking our double stroller and find the stroller a big help. We put all the snacks and our supplies in the stroller. Our DD could stay in the parks quite a while since he was riding. Another big plus, in my book, is I don't have to worry about where they are.

Our DS used to want me to carry him a lot when we first started taking him to WDW. I would wake up with a stiff back from lugging him around. So, the stroller is a must with me.

Hope that helps.

I would rent the strollers! I took a stroller a few yrs ago for my DS3 and needed up buying 2 new ones over 4 days. Everytime I left it to get on a ride when I came out it was GONE!

I wrote our last name in Black marker on it and I even ripped part of the plastic handle off (it was one of those umbrella strollers) thinking someone wouldn't want one that looked "ruined" or one with a name across the back. Boy was I wrong!

The following trips I always rented and NEVER had a problem!

Have a great trip!

Definitely bring a stroller. The parks are big places. The hotel is a big place. DTD is a big place. You do not want to be carrying them around the whole trip. You also don't want to be chasing them all week.

And bringing your own is preferred so you have it outside of the parks.

We're bringing our Sit-n-stand, although I just rented a car after hearing that there is no place to store the stroller on the bus, you have to hold it. The monorail does not go to all 4 parks so you'll have to take a bus at some point. Most people say they have not had a problem holding the stroller but I can't imagine holding 2 kids, all the contents of our stroller & the stroller on a hot crowded bus!! I will not rent due to the cost & the fact that I'll need it outside the parks too!

I would definitely take my own stroller. We did that when our kids were younger and we were so glad we had. From the airport, to the hotel (we've always stayed at the GF) to the parks etc., it was always a good thing. It was nice not to stand in lines to rent strollers, our stroller was always clean, we didn't have to hold sleeping children while on the way to the park, we had a place to store souvenirs/cameras etc. while on the way to and from the park etc. My own stroller is also much more comfortable then the hard, plastic rentable strollers that don't recline as much.

Stroller Yes yes yes yes
been there done that nothing like carrying a darling till you lose all feeling in your arms a stroller is a must plus when they arent in them they are good for holding your stuff

Oh and I just wanted to see my ticker can it be under 100 days whooo hooo double digits

RENT

My kids are about the same age as yours. We were at the parks in August and rented a double for DS 4 and DD (just turned 3).
It was quick and easy and worth every dollar I paid to not have to drag my double stroller on the transportation system.
My kids were comfortable in them.

When you rent, they give you a card with your name on it and you slip it into a little plastic holder on the back of the stroller. If you keep the card each day then it makes it quick and easy to pick up another stroller the next day.

I'd ONLY suggest bringing your own if you have an infant or a child that's two young to sit up and ride in the rentals.

While this may be true, just keep in mind that if you rent you won't have a stroller anywhere outside of the parks. So it depends on what you plan to do during your stay.

Personally, we like to spend time at DTD, go hotel-hopping, visit Belz, Old Town, Celebration, etc. No way I would want to do all of that without a stroller. Even walking around your own hotel can be a problem sometimes if the kids are worn out.

CM's move strollers all the time. Did you check in the surrounding area, or just where you left the stroller? Stroller theft does not seem to a problem at WDW considering all the people here on the DIS that have never had a problem. Did you check to see if the strollers were ever turned in to lost and found? Were you perhaps leaving something in the stroller that a thief would be after, so they took the stroller, and not just the item, so as to not look suspicious.

The fact that you're staying on a monorail resort is the reason I would bring my stroller. You can just push it on the monorail, no need to fold it up. I took my son's good peg perego stroller to Disney over 40 times over the first 6 years of his life. Never stolen, always grateful to have it. I had a "diaper bag" that hooked on to the stroller. It was great for all the "necessities. I loved that he could lay down and take a nap in the stroller or sit up and watch everything. The fact that he could lay down and nap, saved many a trip. We could stop and have a drink or just relax without having to go back to the resort.
