Yes I'm crazy and planning my ADRS for May already lol...need some help

*UPDATE* for the Oct trip should I book LTT on Oct 2 instead of Kona?

Ok so far I have decided on the following.

Well here are my Adrs for october.

1-Ohana's YUM ate there before
2- Kona Cafe dinner first time eating there, can't wait to try the Teriyaki-style New York Strip
3- Tutto Italia ate there before and love it
4- Teppan Edo first time not excited about it though but Tim is. He loves Japanese Hibachi Grills
5- Chef Mickeys breakfast first time can't wait.
6 Kona breakfast first time but I know I'm getting me some Tonga Toast...not staying at Poly so can't get it room service in the morning lol
7 Chefs de France dinner can't wait looking forward to it

Ok so I cancelled Cali Grill for Kona cafe breakfast and chefs de france dinner..just not feeling cali grill anymore

Ok so for May this is what I want so far...I have my alarm set for Nov 4th on my phone to call first thing in the morning 180 days out ( We are staying at AKV)
3-Le cellier Dinner ate there before love it..last time was the day before my wedding and I didn't get to eat my whole plate because I was getting anxious so I lost my appetite lol so I'm lloking forward to eating there again. Love my Cream Cheese mashed potatos
4- Boma Breakfast...I can't wait to try it
5- nothing yet
6-Ohanas dinner it's a must for me like I love this place
7- Coral Reef it's our anniversary and we just love the coral reef so it's a special place for us. I just love the atmosphere there
8- JIKO YUM can't wait to try that Mac and cheese

ooh Lynn, I know what you mean about eating the night before the wedding! I didn't really enjoy my meal as much either!

Everything sounds good, but why aren't you feeling Cali Grill anymore???? please tell!!

Hi Abby!!!!! I think because we could only get an ADR at cali grill at 9PM which is good cause we could have watched the fireworks...it also takes 2 TS and I wanted to try new restaurants for this trip and not waste the 2 TS on one restaurant. I'm thinking about trying it in May though!

Umm ok today while on the phone with Disney Dining I asked when I could book for may and he told me in Nov..but now I'm hearing about the new ADR system thing and that you can't book until Jan..Is this true??? Will that make it hard to book everything we want?

IMPORTANT UPDATE: An upgrade to Disney's Dining Reservation System began July 21, 2008. As the application upgrade occurs, the latest reservation date guests will be able to secure is January 25, 2009. This means that in some cases you may not be able to book as far in advance as usual. (Note that reservation booking windows for Victoria & Albert's, Chef Mickey's and Cinderella's Royal Table will not be affected by this system upgrade.) Beginning October 24, 2008, the current system will be replaced by an improved system for dining, recreation and tour bookings. With the launch of the new booking system, reservations for dining, recreation, and tours will be made during one single transaction. Once the upgrade is completed the booking window will expand back to the normal 180 days.

This means that you can not book a regular ADR for any date after January 25th until the new system is up (except for the exceptions noted). Now the date for when the new system will be up and running has been changed from October to November. Am I making sense??

Below is what was posted on another thread by DisneyDine a dining CM who posts on these boards.


"Beginning November 21, 2008, the launch of a more robust reservation system for dining, recreation and tour bookings will replace the current Dining Reservation System. With the launch of the new booking system, reservations for dining, recreation, and tours may be conveniently secured during one interaction instead of the multiple transactions required today. This supports our commitment to leverage technology to enhance the overall Guest experience. The upgrade to the new system begins July 21, 2008, with minimal impact expected to the booking window. As the application upgrade occurs, the latest reservation date Guests are able to secure with the current systems is February 22, 2009. Once the upgrade is completed the booking window will expand back to the normal 180 days."

As you can see they also extended the booking date out until February 22. This is the most recent information I have seen. If November 4th is your 180 day mark, I definitely would start to check then, who knows how things will progress and maybe as they get closer to finishing this whole thing we'll have some more concrete answers!

Oh, and BTW, add another crazy to the list. We go in late May and I have all my ADR's ready to go too!

I cancelled Teppan Edo and replaced that with Sci Fi cafe for dinner....I just saw pics and it reminds me of my local hibachi and I'm just not into that type of food.

Prime time is a must do for us. Good fod and lot's of fun
Si Fi was an old must do for us until they changed there menu and it wasn't for the better in my opinion so we haven't been back.

Just an FYI, you can get Tonga Toast at Captain Cook's at the Poly. So you could drop by there on the way to MK without using up a TS credit.

As for restaurants, you have many of our favourites on your list already: Kona, 'Ohana, LeCellier and Chefs De France. I would definitely recommend Boma for dinner and we also like Crystal Palace.

Teppan Edo is Awesome in my opinion a must do everytime. Just ate there last week. I eat steak & shrimp and it's so good. I am a very plain picky eater. I eat steak or macaroni. The chef's are so much fun to.

That is a good idea about the Tonga Toast....hmm now where should I pick?? That is the day we are going to do F&W so I didn't want to pick a dinner that day. Should I do another breakfast or just do F&W another day?
