Yes.....Another PP+ Question

I always take pictures of my photo pass cards in case I lose them. Then I started thinking....scary I know. I really want the photo pass plus because I love the ride photos. The problem is that they give you one card per family. We are a family of six and we often split up and do different things (sometimes different parks for park of the day). I don't want to worry about going back to a ride to get a photo added or return pictures for a refund. I was curious if my DH and I both took pictures of our Photo Pass + Card with our smart phones, will they scan the phone for the code. Doubtful, but I was just curious if anyone knew (I tried to do a search and this didn't come up..sorry if it has been asked recently). Thanks in advance.

ETA: I am not worried about regular photo pass photos because I know I can add them later or dining photos because we will always be together during character meals.

I have read mixed responses on them scanning it off phone. I personally wouldn't chance it.

As I understand it, if you know the numbers you can just add them all at the end of the day at the "Photo Center" or whatever it is called in each park. This doesn't help if you're in different parks, of course.

everything i read tells'me no, this can not be done.

we have 16 people- 5 families.
how we'figured'it out----

while we are waiting for'fireworks, or a parade we will have one person going around collecting the ride'photos'using the card

we are'in the parks'for 5 days, someach family will have one day to do the collecting.

Thanks everyone. The collecting idea only works if everyone is in the same park. I was hoping some people had success with this idea. Drats. I know for sure the last day we will be in different parks because we always keep our last day as an open 1/2 day before heading to the airport and let the kids choose which park they want to go back too. (This is the only day the kids get to plan). With 3 adults and 3 kids, this works our nicely usually.

If I already have photo pass "pre ordered" can I upgrade to phot pass plus? When I got it I didn't see any info about the pp+ so I just got the regular one.. And with two character meals planned I think this would be a good idea

We were there last summer and I had the photo pass plus. One day, my husband took our daughter on Everette Expedition and I took our son to the front of the park to wait for them. My husband had the card to get the picture from the ride. My son and I stopped a photographer and I told him that I have the photo pass plus card, but that my husband had it on him. Was there any way to get pictures done and add them to my card? He said yes, he just scanned a new card. Then on our last day, we went to blizzard beach and had multiple pictures taken throughout the park. I then went to one of the photo places and had those cards added to the photo pass plus card. No problem at all, it took all of 10 minutes. Once I came home, my girlfriend was also there a few days before we arrived. They did not purchase the photo pass plus and were going to wait to see if they were going to order it or not. I was able to go on the computer and add her card to my account, again with no problem at all.

My thing is I only have the PHOTOPASS not photopass+ I would like the PLUS. Wondering if I can upgrade before we leave..

You have to have the pp+ card to add ride photos though. So your DH had the card so was able to add the ride photo. The regular photo pass photos are easy to add I agree, whether you are pp+ or regular pp. At least that is my understanding.

I believe you can upgrade as long as it is 14 days before your trip. I believe you have to call to do this though? Not positive??

when do you leave?
if within the 14 days then you cant.

but if after-- call them. Give them your information. you will get a credit for the regular photo pass then buy the PLUS

it will save it in your cart- they then send you a voucher that must be turned in for the PLUS card. Remember you only get one card per family unlike the regular photo pass

With the rgular photo pass you can have multiple cards.

You can pick up your card at the photo centers in each park, DTD, and the following resorts: BC, Poly, GF, AKL, and WL.

When the MagicBands come out PP/PP+ should be linked to the bands. I'm wondering if it will be linked for all members of your party. That would make life a LOT simpler.

You don't need the PhotoPass + card to add regular pictures, that's just for ride photos; you can add as many regular PP cards as you want. The OP wants to be able to split up and have both groups be able to add ride photos, but you're only given one PP+ card. Like Fire14, I've read mixed reports of them being able to scan the PP+ number off a phone.
