We are arriving next Wed and using DME for the first time. Our first night we are booked at AS Sport and then moving to WL on day two (the day our park tickets start). Well we received our luggage tags today and received two sets. One set for AS and one set for WL. Do you think it would be feasible to put the WL tags on and ask to hold at baggage at WL until we arrive on Thursday? We can easily carry enough in carry-on to last our night at AS and would not need (Disney or us) to haul our stuff all over the property. Has anyone ever done this or know if you can be at one resort and luggage at another? Thanks for any help!!!!

Unfortunately, no you can't do that. You need to put the All-Star tags on there, and then once you arrive, you can ask for the bags to be held until the next morning and moved over to WL.

It's an odd but harmless glitch in the computer system that causes a DME packet to be sent out for each reservation number ... and people doing split stays have 2 reservation numbers.

The WL tags are worthless. You'd be well-advised to throw them out so you don't confuse them with the ASSp ones.

Now what follows is just pure speculation, but I could see it happening. You put the WL tags on, and the bags are delivered by truck to WL late that night. They scan the barcodes there, to determine what room to deliver the bags to, and it says you are not a guest at WL. Someone will investigate in the computer and see that you are registered at ASSp. Your bags will be shipped there, but that might not happen 'til the next morning, and by that time your bodies might just be arriving at WL as your bags are just arriving at ASSp. :rotfl: I don't know if it could actually happen that way if you use the WL tags, but it seems a reasonable possibility.

Thanks Eric. I read the WHOLE thread on luggage tags since I submittted the question and have a much better understanding than before. Thanks for the service you guys provide(no, I'm not gonna ask how long before my bags arrive or can I send my bags separately!) Y'all are so patient. Keep up the good work!
