I have read the ticket sticky, but i just need to clarify the date that our annual pass expires... -need to confirm the wording....

The first day we used it was September 20, 2013 - as i understand it, the annual pass will expire on September 20, 2014.

Please confirm that we will be able to use the annual pass on September 20, 2014 for admission. I just spoke with a cast member who said that since it expires on the 20th, we will not be able to use it that day, and September 19th is the last day that we will be able to use it. :confused3

September 20th is the last day of our vacation, and i don't want to have a surprise when we get to the turnstiles. We won't be renewing it due to the timing of the next trip.

Thank you so much for the help...

You will be able to use it on September 20, 2014. The CM was incorrect.

ditto mesaboy (yet again it seems like I agree with him a lot)

that is assuming that you just bought / used the AP on the 20th and didn't upgrade it from a ticket you used previously (like used the ticket a day or 2 on say the 18th or 19th then upgraded to AP) - hopefully that makes sense!

I do not believe this is correct. If you are going for a week long vacation I would check to be sure at the beginning of the week so you are not surprised. Or try called Disney and see if they can look it up. We had annual passes that just expired and I verified at guest services what day they expired and it was the date someone had hand written on the pass when the plastic first came out.

It's absolutely true. My pass expired December 8. On December 8, I entered the Magic Kingdom about 9:30, did rides until 2 pm, and renewed the pass at City Hall.

If I buy my AP on Feb 19,2014 and "not" activate it until Dec 14,2014.
On what date "does" it expire - Feb or Dec ??? TIA

The AP "starts ticking" on the date that you convert the voucher into a live AP ticket.

If it is a NEW Annual Pass (and it sounds like it is), your time starts when you activate it which will be December 14, 2014 so you will be good until midnight on December 15, 2015.

For Annual Pass renewals, it's different. My annual pass expires on August 8, 2014 and I will renew it at some point. It doesn't matter when I first use it this year after I renew. My expiration date will be August 8, 2015 at midnight.

If I don't decide to go to Disney World after August 8, 2014, it might make more sense for me to buy another annual pass the next time I go, depending on my plans for the future after I activate that new pass the first time.

I've been wondering about this as well. We're getting APs this year, first time we'll be back is in May. I'll be using gift cards to buy them, and since its multiple cards I have to call to have them process it.

So,
- I can order on the phone
- they'll send me vouchers
- which we then turn in at DTD or one of the parks to activate it

And we can enter the annual pass voucher number to make FP+ selections? (We already have magic bands from our trip in Dec.)

Basically trying to decide between buying now versus just waiting til we get there. Main difference is being able to make FP selections and book AP discounted travel, right?

Can you also buy the vouchers at a Disney store? We have one close by and it might be easier than reading off all the card numbers to the CM over the phone.

I've read multiple posts from others that this is doable.
