Yes, another "aargh!" post.

Me too! darn :( Glad I have seen it several times and have the soundtrack..i suppose it will forever live on on You Tube...and BTW OP Fantasmic is different than in FL and so worth watching.
YT just doesn't come close though... :(

I honestly have never minded crowds too much (I've said this before). I only usually ever go during peak season so I'm used to 45-90 minute waits in lines and VERY crowded fireworks and F! shows. Not only that, call me crazy, but I love standing in a big crowd during an RDCT show, because I draw my energy from other people's excitement.

Here is my view. I grossly underestimated and took for granted what RDCT would be like. I saw it a few times in the mid 2000s or so, but never really saw it for what it is. Looking back, I would gladly stand with all the people in the world (well most :lmao:) smushed into the park just to watch it one more time.

I know RDCT is one of the most expensive shows they do (it's like $20K + per show), so I understand the cutbacks, but nighttime fireworks and spectaculars have truly made DLR what it is. I hope that whatever they cook up this summer will be good and tasty (thought RDCT was hard to beat!) and that will bounce back with more ferocity than ever when this economy recovers.

I like being a sardine on main street!! *stamps foot* :headache:

LOL..this reminds me of the last night on our ABD Backstage Magic..we had a HUGE area to sit and watch the fireworks (the view was not as good as being smooshed, and the sound was a little hazy, but there was a seat!) and there was a huge stream of people leaving from F! and they kept noticing this huge open area..never mind the bright yellow rope blocking it off, and kept trying to get into opur area..soo..we spent the whole fireworks time watching the CMs acting like bouncers stopping people from coming in and kicking out those who got in..I think I watched that more than the fireworks..very entertaining.
I will truly miss that show..it was just amazing. And people shouldn't whine about admission prices..look what you get to experience for 12+ hours???

Awww. I'm sad. :(

I really love that show.

But I do agree about the sardine thing.

*sigh*

:(

As much as I LOVE RDCT I do agree that it causes major issues and can become chaotic! I am sure the show they come up with will be great and wont have to close so many things to run it. I am not saything that I am not upset because it does make me sad...I want our first timers to see it but I also know that they are doing what is best for the guests in the long run

Darn, my aunt and I were getting excited to have our huge family watch it this summer. It is expensive and it was sort of tied with the 50th anniversary and YOMD since it was a retrospective of the park over the first 50 years and thus doesn't really fit in now that they've got a new theme, but it was the coolest fireworks display ever (way better than Wishes imo)! They did such an amazing job of translating the rides to a fireworks spectacular that I doubt that it will ever be topped. At least I got to see it 6 times and always in my favorite spot right in front of the castle (which facilitated having to wait 2 hours holding a spot). At least they'll have a new show, which I'm excited to see.
