yep ...prices increased

$7300 for 9nites at AKL poolview with PH and dining. This family is hoping like crazy for some free dining for 1st week of March lol.

I was trying to find some sort of link to see what their value and peaks seasons were for 2013. Anyone have that?

This is not not a chart but does a pretty good job. It mentions that he can't do the whole year yet, though, because:

"Bookable dates go out 500 days, so later November and all of December 2013 is still not bookable. By my math, any arrival date in the year will be available by August 18, 2012."

He goes on to say that he's estimated these further out dates for now. http://**************.net/2011/09/04/walt-disney-world-2013-price-seasons/

When do you think January/February 2013 discounts might be announced? I've been waiting for the pricing to go live, but now I realize it does me no good since I'm hoping for a discount!

I already booked, but am curious about this as well!! COME ON FD!!!

We priced out GF and Poly last night and it was going to be about $500 more than last 2012. That bummed me out. So we priced out the YC, WL and CR and all of those seem to be in the $ 200-300 more range. That'll work okay.

So, now we're going to wait to see if any discounts come out for June 2013 before we actually book. But the increase definately moved us from staying at the GF again. :( Maybe it's a good thing.... I've been wanting to try the YC or WL, so maybe Disney just helped us make our decision easier! :goodvibes

I'm not sure why anyone would be surprised that vacation packages for next year would have increased. :confused3 We already knew that ticket prices have increased- and that's a big factor in any vacation package. Dining plans (of every type) have yearly increases. Room rates increase every year. Add them all up for a typical vacation package and : Bingo- price increase. Same ol' same ol'. Now we know. And now we wait for the discounts...

I'm done with the DPs. Except for the value resorts, they just aren't worth it any more. Give me a good room-only discount from now on.

I don't think anyone is surprised that prices increased, but in my example a 7.5% increase is awefully steep, when inflation is hovering around 3%.

Okay, understood. But: not everyone is experiencing the same increase percentage; a vacation absolutely isn't a necessity; traveling/taking a vacation improves the economy. Anyone who can afford to do it, absolutely should!

True. I'm just saying that if the rate stays high for these increases (outpacing inflation significantly), it doesn't take very many years for Disney to be out of reach for many more US households, and that's a shame.

DigiMom--thanks for the link to my site!

This morning, I got on the hotel pages for the rest of 2013 price seasons, and was surprised to discover that one week of December 2013 is now Peak season! So December 2013 goes Fall for a couple of weeks, then peak, then holiday...

This is a big change (and big price increase!) compared to the recent past, when the first 20 days or so were Fall (last two years) or Value (before then...)

I've updated the page you linked to, and also published on the December point this: http://**************.net/2012/07/1...disney-worldthan-comparable-prior-year-weeks/

Thanks again!

thank you digiMom :goodvibes
looks like i am in regular season with 2 days in peak at the end. Good news for free dine if its offered. But anything is possible I guess lol.
I mean, they gotta offer us something right?? They do every year... keeping fingers crossed and impatiently waiting :surfweb:

curious...when it comes to a room discount over free dine, is the room discount only worthy it if you book deluxe?
Last few years I have been lucky enough to score the free dine for this part of the year. i have gotten quite used to the mouse paying for my meals.

Just priced out an August 2013 trip to Pop Century for DD (she's a Disney adult) and myself, and compared to the same trip in 2012, it's an 5% increase.

I know room only discounts for Jan/Feb 2012 came out on Oct 5, 2011.

It would depend on how many people in your party, & the % of room discount (they've gotten more skimpy)
If you want the dining plan, if and when free dining and room discount comes out, you'd have to price it out each way.
Free Dining VS room discount and buying DDP.

For us, being 2 people at Deluxe, room discount has always been cheaper and buying DDP. But with skimpier discounts I don't know.
I've stopped getting the dining plan, I found out that paying OOP is cheaper for us, we get a gift card and put what DDP cost on that last Jan, and we had $$ left over. We ate 1 CS & 1 TS daily. With the exception of first night we ate CS.
