I went tomy first Creative Memories party last night...and came out as a Disney geek to my friends!
First off, on one of the mini-cataloges, it showed a page that was labeled "Disneyland", when CLEARLY it was a picture of Cindy's castle in WDW.
Then, one girl was working on putting her pics in the scrapbook, and i was flipping through them, and asked her if that was in 2005. She asked how I knew. I sheepishly said, "Because the way the castle is decorated"
So now everyone knows...I'm a big Disney Dork!

Yes, I'm a pretty shy person, and everytime I hear someone say something like "Oh no we only went to Disney World, we didn't go to Epcot or MGM", it's the only thing that keeps me from spewing out "you DO don't know anything" type of talk at them :rotfl:

Also, beware anyone having a conversation with me that says the words "Disney World" ...you've just opened yourself up to hours of enthusiastic praise, tips and recommendations :)

Funny how scrapbooking events bring out the inner Disney geek in many of us! Many of our scrapbooking events have basically turned into people scrapping their Disney trip, so there is LOTS of WDW talk! I often end up w/ a very sore tongue ... from biting it w/ all the MIS-info that poorly informed WDW guests like to spout. Sometimes it's harder than others!

I TOTALLY understand where you are coming from!

We're not dorks... we are EXPERTS in our field! ;) ;) :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2
I'm also guilty here. People that know me well will avoid talking about Disney unless they are planning a trip and need help. Otherwise if they get me started, they end up rolling their eyes. Why does everyone keep asking why I 'm doing Disney again this year??? ;) ;)
I say why not?? I love it, the place makes me feel good and happy and relaxed!
Just enjoy the Disney addiction! I know I do!:lovestruc

LOL..my ex husband thought I had an 'unhealthy obsession' with Disney...my DBF thinks it's 'cute'... no wonder I dumped the EX>...rofl

Yeah...when people say "I went to Disneyworld"...they assume MK is Disney... when I ask about the other parks...they say.."Oh, no, we just went to DisneyWorld" Nooo..you went to MAGIC KINGDOM... lol

ah yes, but let me prove my point :).

I work in an IT support shop. One day, I get a call from a customer out east. Expecting some sort of networking problem or software question, I answer the phone. Here's what he says "Hey there, I wondered if maybe I could get your advice on a Disney vacation I'm planning" .... umm... do I bill this call? :rotfl:

I am currently in training for a new position. My class discovered my  fr Disney.(Maybe the purse ,earings and clothes gave it away:) ) Now I am getting a lot of questions and Disney talk at work which is wonderful! One of my coworkers is an interior designer and she even made me a Minnie bag! It definately makes work more interesting!

My kids were taking swimming lessons, and I noticed a complete stanger was reading a Disney guide book. I think I may have scared her by all I started spouting off! :rotfl2: I also think she was somewhat surprised I knew the answer to all her questions. (They really weren't hard for any Diser!)

Hi! I'm Katie, and I am a certified Disney Dork, and proud of it :yay: My DH doesn't share the love quite as much and actually teases me and picks on my almost daily. Look at what he made: No flames please, he made it, not me. I think it's pretty funny! :goodvibes

Experts in the field .... thanks, that sounds so much better ... although I am not at all offended to be called a Disney Dork, WDW Geek, etc. I am DARNED PROUD of it.

What do you all do about the people who say "What ... you're going again?" Some of our family can be critical. I guess they just don't get it. I try not to be offended, simply say ... "Yep, girls are still little & they enjoy it. Plus, there is SOOOO much to do there that we haven't quite done everything we'd like yet." Relatives aren't quite so "critical" now that I've told them how much ****I**** enjoy WDW, but I still think they think I'm a freak.

I know if we work out the trip for 11/09 that it might be our last.

DH has been indulging my obsession. However, he says he's good if he doesn't go back. In fact, on our last trip, I took the girls and we went with their Dear Aunt. DH stayed home. However, I want to go to WDW at least one more time as a family. Since we can only afford a big vacation about every 18 mos. or so, I know we have other things coming up ... one DD wants to visit NY City & Niagra Falls ... also wants to go to Washington DC. She's a lover of all things historical so I know we'll do more of those kinds of trips soon. We will also want to do the Grand Canyon and I want to do Mt Rushmore & Glacier National Park.

I LOOOVVVEEE those commercials where the empty-nesters go off to WDW themselves. Don't know that will ever happen for us. But, I can only hope that someday we can do trips with our DDs and THEIR families.

My DH makes fun of me daily. When we lived in Orlando, I had to drag him there. Living in Jacksonville now, he loves to go... like once every few months lol.. :)

Last night I was playing "opposites" with my 4 yo ds. I would say things like "Tall" he would say "Short". I said "Disneyland" just to mess with him and he answered "Disney World"!
My dorkness has rubbed off to the next generation!!!! ;) :thumbsup2

I used to tease my brother because he and his family went every year for about 4 years. Now, we're almost the same way - although 2 of the trips were just me and DD. And, to be fair, we did camp at the Fort one year and went to DLR another year.....

However, the sad part is that when people start talking about vacations at work, they all look at me and ask what date am I going back to WDW. :rotfl: Now, to be fair, as a family we've also gone to Massachusetts, Virginia and the Jersey Shore!!! However, you can look at my siggy and see how many WDW trips there have also been. :rolleyes1

One of my coworkers is going in early October with her dragon boat team and asked me where should they stay on a budget and what should she do on her off time. Yup - told her to stay at Pop if possible and here - have a couple of my old guidebooks. (UOG, Birnbaum and 2006 Passporter) She was very happy.

LOL My 6YO DD knew that one! We were playing opposites last year and I said DIsney World and she said "Time Out Corner"

THAT is the opposite of Disney!!

(This is the same DD that when we played "What does this animal Say" didn't miss a beat when I said "Giraffe" She said "Hi, I'm a giraffe" ROFL)
