Yee Haw Bob Sexual Harrassment

My problem with her including this in with these other horrible allegations is, does it really belong with them?
Even if it did happen, does this belong with what these other men have done to women, men who held their power over these women and used it to abuse them.
None of those things occurred here.
Exactly.

The #metoo is about your boss brushing against your breast and when you back away, he reminds you that your review is coming up. Or when your boss calls you into his office, closes the door, sits next to your and puts his hand on your thigh.

The guy sitting next to you and grabbing your butt, isn't #metoo. It just means that he is a creep.

This is my feeling too.
As wonderful as #metoo is for women to be able to come out and share their experiences, it is also bringing everyone who thinks they are a victim out of the woodwork.
Nobody deserves to have their butt grabbed or pinched when posing for a photo (or any other time they don't want it), but I hardly think of her as a victim of real sexual assault. Tell the jerk to get his hands off you and move on to the rest of your day at Disney.
I also think it belittles women who have suffered through sexual assault and/or harassment every day of their lives. Those who are actually tormented by their abuser because they have to work or live, or go to school with them. Those who lives have been forever changed because of what they went through, or are going through.
Her story doesn't come across as one of those women, it comes across like she is trying to be one them. That is pretty reprehensible IMO.

Erm, so how do you know they are guilty then? Maybe it was on the internet?

Andre

I know people that have been raped and molested and the criminals walk free.

It is a "soft crime" in which no one is really punished.

That is why the court of public opinion exists. Maybe other accusers will come forward? Maybe people are lying?

If he grabbed her butt, that is NOT okay. I hope Disney would fire someone who purposefully cops a feel of a guest.

However, I do wish we were in a time when she could have done something in the moment...moved away, said "excuse me!" or maybe her friends who took pictures and said they would have "punched him" would have done something? Like others said, this was in public, this was not their boss or someone who had great power.
Heck, I might have said something to someone if I saw a Disney CM grab a butt while on duty. Even if they were two consenting parties, that is not appropriate to a working environment.

And it was her perception of what happened, that’s a big difference. People are on a witch hunt ready to tar & feather a person on one persons preception of what happened. I highly doubt that is actually what actually happened, that Bob intentionally and maliciously grabbed her butt.

Has no one here done or said something that was taken the wrong way by someone? I knew someone I had to walk in egg shells to speak to. She continually took what I said and twisted it around into something else to suit her.

And she’s mounting this campaign knowing Bob has no way to defend himself. This is mob mentality at its best.
I hope Bob gets his day and that he sues her for defamation of character.

Interesting to note that the OP is nowhere to be seen aside from original post. Just did her friends dirty work and disappeared.

YES! This! You said it exactly! I don't want to ever come across that I think having your butt grabbed is ok. It isn't. Unless you want it grabbed. I mean, if Tarzan had wanted to grab my butt I may or may not have been ok with it, but I digress......
She didn't want it grabbed, he shouldn't have grabbed it, if he did. There is no doubt about that. But really, to join your case in with the #metoo movement for this?

I have to agree with the poster upthread who said this portends the coming of character pics/meets where the character is behind a railing and no touching at all can occur.
Didn’t Tigger go to court and win? when he was accused of having Happy Hands. I think Donald has also had some accusers who didn’t get far.

We are, women are free to do something in the moment, and many of them do.
And to her credit, she did complain to Disney after it happened. She seemed to accept the result of that and move on, until #metoo.

Maybe that was it. I could have sworn it was somehow related to Len Testa or Scopa though. I'm starting to think I listen to too many Disney Podcasts if I can't keep them straight.

You know, I have a few pictures with Donald and he isn't wearing any pants at an in them. I guess I need to go make a Facebook post about him getting fired. No pants in public, where does the madness end?

I knew a woman like this at my first job. Anything said to her was taken wrong. She had such a chip on her shoulder (maybe rightly so, I'm not sure) but it cause her to turn any nice action in to such an incident that no one would even look her in the eye, much less speak to her.

All due respect - we are in that time. Have been for a while actually. Any reluctance or inability to do so has to do with the mind and temperament of the individual, not because women in general don't possess all the "power" and "permission" needed to slap some miscreant's hand off their ***.

Here is my final thought, MEN are the ones who need to step forward and accuse. Imagine if all the molested men came forward. That would turn things on it's head.

I worked with a woman like that as well. Any perceived slight she marched into Human Resources to complain. She complained about her boss, other bosses, secretaries, the mail guy, file clerk for a myriad of 'offences'. Everyone stopped talking to her and she filed a complaint and said she was working in a hostile environment that rendered her emotionally handicapped and not able to work. My firm ended up paying her out to get rid of her.

I was a teen, but an adult, when the man put his hand on my butt. I told him that it wasn't okay.

I'm 51 now. So we are talking over 30 years ago.

We are in that time now. And have been for quite some time.

That being said, time after time, the guilty walk free.

Erm, so how do you know they are guilty then? Maybe it was on the internet?

Andre

You can not be arguing that the guilty do not walk free/haven't walked free on numerous occasions (DIS disclaimer ---- answering to Andre's comment, not this accusation.)

If you are my answers are ---

Common sense for some situations. Personal experience for others.

I'd be really unhappy if my adult friends just took a picture of my assault and/or later commented on it instead of helping me in the moment.

Of course. Perception is everything.

My perception...It REALLY burns me since most of the "people" I am talking about were elementary school age children that were being molested at the time and there is not a damn thing I can do about it. Oh btw, one of just got degree to be a elementary school teacher before he was busted. Think on that.

Did he go to jail? No. Why because it is the testimony of 1 child.

You know I didn't really think of it that way, but without seeing that picture I can't say they actually saw it. Was someone taking a picture of her and the others with him and noticed the butt grabbing when they looked at it?

Or was someone seeing it happen and taking a picture of it to have on record?

Maybe she pressured her friend to submit the photo to back up her claim?

There are alot of things to question about her story so really this just adds to that.

It's sad that such an important issue as this has been reduced to the level of this year's "ice bucket challenge".

If she feels so strongly about it she should take it to the police. Or, in fact, have done so at the time.

As it is, a man could now easily lose his reputation, his livelihood and potentially even his life (see recent Carl Sargent case in Wales, UK) over an unsubstantiated accusation. I'm sure that others will now be making similar claims having seen that Disney is sending $500 checks out. And that will surely force Disney into action, whether he's guilty or not.

The way it was related at some point or another in this thread, the friend saw the butt grab and snapped a pic of it to record the said butt grab
