Day 8 (Part 1) - Friday, November 21st, 2003
CAST OF CHARACTERS:
Yecats - Me, myself and I.
Me is Single, 33 (however, other two personalities - myself is about 10 years old and an advid SM freak and the I personality may be about 60 years especially after getting off of the ToT).
Also on board is my new Canon ZR65 Digital Videocamera nicknamed: Handycam, as it was always in my hand.
PLAN FOR THE DAY:
1. Animal Kingdom for the last time (part 1)
2. Typhoon Lagoon (part 2)
3. Mousekeeping again (part 2)
4. Downtown Disney (part 2)
Hi to all of those that have been reading my reports. Sorry I haven't been able to post for the past several days. but unfortunately, I've had a bad cold and am just now recooperating.
Anyway, this day started with me waking up again before my Mickey call was supposed to come in. At about 7:35 a family with 2 young anxiously awaiting children decided to run and stop directly outside my window then scream something at their parents. Well that was enough to wake me up. So I am staring at the ceiling and thinking about my day when another child ran past the window. Okay, this is the weekend before Thanksgiving, I guess more families have checked in yesterday. Out of bed and away I go.
I was dressed by the time my Mickey call came in and just plain hung up on the little fellow. I walked to the Food Court and got one of those morning meals, you know 4 pancakes with 6 strips of bacon and a large milk. Several tons, oops 1/2 hour later, I am on the bus and headed for my last day at Animal Kingdom. Truthfully, I was reflecting on my trip thus far and beginning to feel sad that tomorrow was going to be my last day.
Arrived just a few minutes after the gate opened and rented a locker. You see later on today I will be going to Typhoon Lagoon and am carrying my bag with all the stuff I need lateron so I won't have to return to PORS. So my bag is in the locker and all I am carrying with me is Handycam and $20.
So of course off to the safari I go. Nice safari ride, once again, saw plenty of animals. Bye to big and little red, I'll miss you. Came off and watched the gorillas for a bit then off Kali River Rapids which again was a vertual walkon. As I am heading off to swim later, I am not particularly worried about getting wet and it had heated up to about 77 degrees so far. Well at the end of the ride, I was barely wet as I was the one who managed to miss the water dumps this trip. Okay off to It's Tough to be a bug. Love it so much that we let the insects, bugs, blah, blah leave first so we wouldn't squish them. Okay walked in a few shops over towards Dinoland and bought two magnets for my refrigerator. Then onto Primevil Whirl, twice in a row, no line whatsoever.
Okay time for Dinosaur. Had about a 15 minute wait then onto ride. I am always it seems seated in the front row. This is important because when the picture is taken at the end of the ride I always have the exact same expression. I am the person in the picture who has her fingers in her ears (Dino's too loud), eyes closed (helping to calm stomach) with squished face and neck trying not to be eaten by the mean dino. Who in the world wants to buy a picture when they look like that, certainly not me.
Anyway came off and decided to buy some popcorn and coke and people watch for a few minutes. I truly didn't want to leave yet so decided to watch ITTBAB again and since I was so close to the safari ride, went on it one LAST time. At this point, the animals were more resting than any other time so it is time for me to head out. As I was leaving AK, I had stopped to take various film and pictures for remembering. Grabbed my bag from the locker, took one last look down the pathway towards AK and decided it was time to head for Typhoon Lagoon.
I don't recall why, but I don't think that there is a bus that goes directly to DTD/TL from the bus station so I took bus back to PORS and then took their bus to DTD/TL.
TIP:
It will take you some time to get to Typhoon Lagoon as the bus has to stop at both stops at DTD before stopping at TL.
The DTD/TL came quickly and I was the only passenger on it. The bus driver had to make all depot stops before heading to DTD and then both DTD stops before heading to TL. As it was just the bus driver (very sweet, older semi retired gentleman) and myself we just sat there telling amusing stories to each other about various things we've experienced at Disney. He had some very funny ones to tell to. So if your ever the only one on the bus, talk to the driver, I have always found them to be very nice and funny. Anyway, about 50 minutes later, the bus driver wished me a fun day at Typhoon Lagoon and off I went.
