i need to know what the average cost of yearbooks are? I received a bill for dd's and was blown away. Am I that out of touch or is $70. high?

Ours were $50.00 ($45.00 if you ordered before 10/18) the price goes up to $60.00 after the first of the year. I have no clue why the difference in prices...they are all ordered at the same time.

I think that ours were $45. We were charged for them when I received the bill at the beginning of the year, so it was lumped in with art fees, book fees and pay to play. Our yearbook has tons of ads though and each senior has an ad also.

Probably about right. I was on yearbook staff in high school (Editor my senior year!) and it's really tough to get prices down any lower sometimes. You can only put in so many ads and the fee has to pay for cameras, film, development, computer software, planning pages, a consultant, etc. etc. etc. We still did an additional fundraiser after selling ads (Prom fashion show, it's a tradition) and it hardly touched the bill.

$70 for middle school, $65 if you paid before a certain date. Sorry I don't see the need to spend $70 for a 7th grader. When DS is in high school that will be a different story.

I never paid for yearbooks when my kids were in grammer or middle school. When they get their class pictures taken they add a small charge on the prices for the books. (maybe $5.00)And all the kids get them whether they paid or not. High School you only get if you order. And it is not mandatory...my oldest is a Junior and this is the first year she wanted one (probably because she is VP of the Anime Club)

HOLY COW!!!!!

I was on year book staff 15 years ago as a sr in high school and I think ours were $28. Has inflation driven them up that much???

I work at an elementary school now and ours are nice but they are only $14.

Wow, that is high (I thought the 35.00 I paid in high school was bad). The PTO at Remy's school uses part of it's fundraiser money to give free yearbooks to all the kids in her elementary school, but I can see we have expensive times ahead of us! :(

Back in 1993 my high school yearbook was somewhere between $80-90. I threw it away a few years ago. What a dust collector!

Erin :D

How big is your school? The publishers discount the books when the quantities increase. So if you only have a 100 people ordering compared to 1,000 people, it is going to be more.

It also depends on things such as the types of cover they pick, the use of color pictures, graphics, etc.

$22 for middle school, $55 for high school, advance order price that will include their name engraged on the front.

ours were about $60, and i graduated in 1998. So that doesn't sound too bad.

tricia.

For my 10th grade twins the yearbooks were 60.00 each....our school is very large so that must be including the volume discount

I was going to post this topic myself, thanks for posting! My DS is in HS ( second year) and his cost is $68. I thought that seemed high.

in high school we paid $60. in college they were around $100.
