Year of Million Dreams -- anyone else get something yet? Post your wishes won here!

I found this information in the book, Disney on a Dime from my library. All you have to do is send a postcard or letter (one request per card/letter) to the following address:
The Walt Disney Co.
Attn: Fan Mail Dept.
500 South Buena Vista St.
Burbank, CA 91521

They are in Black and White, 8 1/2 x 11 on Kodak paper, good quality. Mine were signed using a silver pen. I am thinking about having them framed for the girls after I give them to them. It only took about 2 to 3 weeks for them to come. Enjoy, there isn't much free these days. princess:

What exactly did you write to them saying? My 2 year old sister loves the princesses and i would like to get them to send one to her.

we were getting on cinderellas carousel when a cm made DD5 an honorary princess for a day. she got a certificate and a crown as she announced to the crowd that she was an honarary princess . it was one of her highlights of the day.

Year of a Million Dreams winner begins journey
Mar 30, 2008

The winner of the "Year of a Million Dreams" Grand Marshal world tour starts his visit at every Disney park this Wednesday.

JOshua Peterson of Eustis, FL won the prize when exiting an attraction last year.

The 18 year old and his family will begin as Grand Marshal's of the Magic Kingdom's parade and head to Anaheim, Hong Kong, Tokyo and Paris.

WOOOHOOOOO my family was in the Disney news!!!!!

after sending in post cards (one for myself and one for DH) for the past three months, last week we received the YOAMD mickey ears in the mail. i enjoyed the surprise! :goodvibes

I was about 6 months pregnant when the YOAMD first started. My husband and I were passing an ice cream cart on our way into the World Showcase at Epcot. The cart attendent said we looked like we could use an ice cream...lol. Now, I am not sure if it was because it was hot and I was pregnant or if we "won a dream"... Too bad for me, I am lactose intolerant - so my hubby got the Mickey Ice Cream. Yay for him. Now, I kid you not, we have been to all of the Disney parks about 2 dozen times in the past 8 months, and we have yet to receive any more "dreams"...we have watched countless others, but never us. Maybe it is time to get pregnant again?? NOT!!

We were at DTD a few weeks ago and were stopped by 4 Dream Team members and given the YOAMD Mickey ears. It was a bit embarassing bc my two boys were so taken aback they refused for awhile to take the ears. :rotfl:

As it was my DS's 4th b'day, we had a few extra magical moments happen while we were there:

I stopped with DD4 to trade pins at our resort, with the CM at the DVC desk, and he gave him 2 special pixie dust Tinkerbell pins with no trade.

A sweet CM walked up to us outside of Pecos Bill and gave everyone chocolate chip cookies out of a basket she was carrying.

Received a complimentary upgrade to bunk bed room with Savanna View at AKL. Our ressie was for a standard room.

On numerous occasions the kids were stopped by friendly CM's and given stickers and pins.

Our "Uncle Tim" at 50's Primetime bringing all the kids free souvenir drinks with light up Captain Hook's

No wonder I wish I could just stay an entire summer. Everything about WDW is just magical for us, the minute we see the first Disney street sign on the highway, we know we've arrived. Brings a tear to my eye everytime...

I won Dream Fastpasses in the Animal Kingdom the other morning on the Pangini Trail. The funny thing is that my mom and I were there in the park so early that we didn't need fast passes and they came home today as souvies.

Well our very first WDW trip complete. We LOVED it. My hubby even said he wants to go again--this time without the kids. I am ALL for that.

While we did not receive any large dream prizes we did however get suprise fass passes for Peter Pan's Flight. I was in line for FP's for 9 of us when a CM stopped me and asked, 'how many are in your party?' I told her 9 and she counted out and handed me 9 instant FP's. That was nice. saved us a load of time and let us get to Space Mountain--Woot!!

On day 3 we went to EPCOT and as we were entering the park was stopped by (I think a Dream Team member) She asked me if we had been at WDW for less than 24 hours. I of course told her the truth. She just said with a frowny smile on her face, "thanks." I wonder what the lucky people got. HUmm. Oh well. I guess I 'honestly' paid it forward huh?

We were also given a FP by another guest. It was the child switch ticket they were unable to use for the Tower of Terror. We had already been on it 2x's and decided to aim for another time with the Switch FP but layer decided we needed to return to ur resort room cuz of tired kiddos. So we paid that FP forward too.

And the sweetest moment on our trip was the first morning there we were able to get to Tink's treasures first and my 6 y/o Tink Lover daughter was asked to wake up Tink. I thought she would break the wake up wand as she was vigorously pounding the wand on Tink's lil sleeping chest. She got a special pin only those who wake up Tink get. And the CM also gave my 8 y/o daughter the same pin since she was there too. I thought that was sweet of her. For the rest of the trip she told EVERYONE that she 'woked up Tinkerbell and made her mad.' It was the cutest thing.

I am ready for the second honeymoon now. I need to get planning.

I am still hoping that our entry is picked for the mail-in portion of the Sweepstakes--but I won't hold my breath--I will only dream. :wizard:

We were in DW Nov 06, didn't have anything happen or see anything (it was right at the begining). We are going in Nov 08, crossing our fingers, but boy I will cry like crazy i anything did happen! But a GOOD cry!!! Last year my grandparents took a cross country drive for their 50th annivarsary and 70th b-days (all 3 happened within a 4 day period last May). They drove from the Detroit area to Disneyland via Rt.66. I told them I would make their reservations to get an "online discount"--- they don't have a computer. Really I just wanted access to their account info so we could order a gift basket and stuff like that. I actually called to make the reservation and spoke with a WONDERFUL lady and told her all about them. They are the greatest people, they met and had their first kiss in 3rd grade. Grandpa said to her at 8 years old he was going to marry her and he did and all these years later they act like a couple of teenagers. Secretly I had hoped they would do something for them, but wasn't counting on it. I had no idea what was to be in store for them. When they arrived at check in for a standard room at Paradise Pier, the check in was taking forever. My grandma said people were checking in and they were thinking, is there a problem or something? Thankfully they didn't get angry, becasue a few minutes later their check in lady ame out with a bunch of balloons and told them they were being upgraded to the best suite in the hotel (it retails for $2000 a night)! That was their home for the next 3 nights. They had a beautiful view of California Adventure (she took lots of photos for us to see!!!) She called me as they walked to their new room and said, "What Did You DO???" I was so excited for them. Moments after they got to the room their was a knock at the door, room service brought up 2 giant Mickey rice crispie treats with fudge dipped ears. Every day they were left a small vase of roses and when they got back from their annivarsary dinner there was a heart made out of rose petals on the bed. Also, a couple of times in the park the rides stopped and the ride operators had everyone in line wish them congrats and let them ride on the rides alone. We had had Mickey & Minnie Bride and groom t-shirts made that had their wedding and annivarsary dates on them, and ordered them the bride and groom ears and pins which they wore proudly. They said literally 100s of people wish them well, and it was truly magical. Also at check out they were given a signed Mickey and Minnie Bride and Groom photo wishing them the best. It was great!!! I would love to have my little princesses have a Magical Moment, but if I never do, it would have to be huge to beat the happiness of having this happen to my very wonderful grandparents. They go on all our trip with us so maybe when we go in November they will bring us some luck....

Your story brought tears to my eyes. That was such a nice surprise.

:wave2: neighbor. I'm from Rochester. When in November are you going? We leave the day after Thanksgiving.

HI, we will be there the week of Thanksgiving, we arrive the Saturday before Thanksgiving and leave Disney the Sunday after Thanksgiving. I know people say not to go then, but we have gone the last couple trips and it works for us. I love their story too. My grandparents are the greatest people. They raised me since I was born so they kind of are my mom and dad, just better. They totally were meant to be together, born 1/2 day apart, met at 8 and at 71 still as happy if ever. It could not have happened to better people.
I hope you have a great trip, I am sure you will... Bye Neighbor....

Last October my daughter recieved 2 tinkerbell pins from a cast member. We didn't know that these were part of their "Dreams" promotion. We just thought it was the usuall Disney Nice. Which it was. We are going again in a month. Can't wait, and now we know about the Dream Team, and plan to keep an eye out for them. :cheer2:

Hi
My DH,2DD my Mom and I went to DW in August 07. We were very lucky to experience some magical moments while we were there. My 5 year old dd was made an official princess by a cast member and she rode Cinderella's horse. The CM announced her name and home town to the group waiting for the ride and gave her a certificate. My 8 year old Kristen was given an embroidered mickey princess hat by 2 CM's who had the same name as her. My DH lost our spray fan and when he was buying another one he told the story to the CM who was waiting on him and she gave him a certificate to get a new one. On our last day the most exciting wish was granted. We were the first family of the day at the MK. We rode on the train with the characters and they all signed autograph books which they gave to us for our dd's and we opened the park! It was unbelievable! We received a free photo with Mickey and the girls both got 2 Tink pins one to keep and one to pass on to share the magic! We love Disney and we are counting the days until our next trip in August 09

We just got back from WDW and had the best trip yet! The past few times we were there we won Dream Fast Passes for some of the parks but this time, we won something almost everyday! I guess because it's getting towards the end of the promotion they need to give them all out. We first got there on Friday 8/22 and we were in Magic Kingdom and we got 2 Magical Moments, first we were getting Bottled drinks from a snack cart and they gave us one for free! The whole trip we got so many magical moments from snack carts we had the Deluxe Disney Dining Plan and we had 12 snacks left on the last day! Then the second day we were at DHS and we were going into One Man's Dream and the Dream Team was there and we won Dream Cloud Ears and Dream Fast Passes for that park. A few days later we were at DHS again it was really unbelievable how the day panned out... First we were walking over to go on Rockin' Rollercoaster and we stopped outside Tower of Terror to get a drink and we got a free drink again as a magical Moment. and the dream team came out as we were waiting in line at Rockin' RollerCoaster and gave our whole group Lanyards with YOMD Pins on them they were really nice. We then went right over to the Art of Animation to do that before the Parade started and we were waiting in line to go in and the dream team came out but didn't have their white vests on so we just figured they were wandering around, then as we were about to go in they came back out with their vests on and gave all 26 people waiting in line VIP Seating Passes for Fantasmic that night. (they were great seats right in the middle) A few days later we were back at DHS early in the morning, we got there at about 7:30am (thinking the park opened at 8am but we found out it didn't open until 9) While we were waiting at the turnstiles a Cast Member was talking to us and asking us questions and asked if we ever opened a park before. We really didn't know what was involved because we saw the opening at Epcot the day before which was just a family that said Welcome to Epcot in a microphone and they let everyone in. So she asked if we wanted to open the park and we were excited to do that so she brought u through into the park early and we were taken to a air conditioned VIP lounge until we needed to go to the opening location. We got pictures outside of the Hat with no one in the background which was cool too. They then took us to open the park where we got to be part of this skit with a director and a woman named Tutti Frutti and we did this little skit that lasted about 10 minutes and We yelled "Hollywood Here we Come" at the end and were driven off waving with the crowds following behind us. They asked what our favorite ride was (Tower of Terror) and they drove us to the entrance where we were the first ones on the ride. We thought we were going to be in with the first group, but no, We were the only ones in the first room you go in to watch the video and then we were the only 2 people in the ride car as we did the ride. Knowing this, we thought we would smile and wave at the camera before we dropped so we could buy the photo after the ride. When we got off the ride, our guide was waiting there for us and she already had the photo printed and in a folder which they gave to us complimentary! It was so much fun, if you get to the parks early, be sure to get in line right away and drum up conversation with the cast members! This is my first posting on this and I was wondering if there is a way to share photos with these postings? Anybody know how?
We are going back in December for Christmas and we are looking forward to seeing whether we are as lucky then as we were on this trip!
Has anyone else won the Lanyards with the Pins? I have never seen those before?

Congrats!!! I hope I'm that lucky in 11 days!!!! (Although right now I'll be thrilled just to be there with good weather!) We went last year and just missed the dream team 2 times, but my sister-in-law won the lanyards when they were there last year, they are really nice! If you sign up for a photobucket account, you can load pics there and then click on img link and then paste it in your post and the pics will show up! Hope you do, I would love to see the pics! So jealous you got to open up the park! How fun!!! :thumbsup2

We got the lanyards in June as we exited Thunder Mountain Railroad early in the morning. They were really nice. We had seen the cast members while getting on the ride and wondered what they were up to. Many people got to receive the lanyards.

Just back from a week at WDW. Had a wonderful vacation. Saw the Dream Teams out and about often this week. Won no Dream Team type prizes, but we did have a great Animal Kingdom Park day. We were chosen to open the park, then DD was chosen to open the tip board for the day, and then we were granted VIP passes to The Lion King Show.
Also, some little things. DS lost DD spray mister fan in Epcot and we were told to go to Guest Services and they would have one for us. (They did) and DD left her Hidden Mickey Book in a restaurant. We filled out a lost and found slip at our hotel and returned from the parks to find a new book waiting for her in the room. All of the CMs were wonderfully pleasant and the kids loved the interactions with CMs and characters. It was a great trip.
Both kids also got Tink pins when we were in DL this June. They were hunting Hidden Mickeys at a restaurant and found them all so the CM gave them the pins for their hard work.
