Year of Million Dreams -- anyone else get something yet? Post your wishes won here!

We recv'd Dream Fastpasses last Saturday at AK in front of the train waiting to go to Rafiki's Planet Watch. Everyone there got them!!

My son is on the Dream Squad at WDW....and I want you all to know they are a group of 44 or so dedicated and loving cast members. They love their jobs and really enjoy giving out those "Dreams." I can't believe how organized it all is and it certainly isn't something that is scripted ahead of time. It's so random that even the CM's don't know what's coming to shortly before they get the notification. And then they get to really enjoy their jobs.

His biggest dream give-away? A trip to Italy for a family.

I must say that Disney really, really wanted to plan this all out well and their training left nothing to chance. Knowing some of the behind the scenes things about this initiative made me really respect the management that he worked and works under (no plug, just the facts).

Yet, another reason we love DisneyWorld!!!
This was our first year to visit Disney at Christmas. The only picture I told my family I HAD to get was a good shot with Mickey for our Christmas card photo. We weren't having alot of luck until the morning of December 13th. We were in Animal Kingdom and went over to the Charachter Greeting Trail to see Mickey. We got there about 10 minutes before the lines opened at 10am. We were first in line with only a few people behind us.

A Dream Team Member came up to us and asked us about our trip. I told him I had my heart set on getting a picture with Mickey for our Christmas cards.
He said "How would you like a private photo shoot with the whole gang?" That meant Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Goofy in his Santa outfit!!! We were thrilled to say the least. He took us to Mickey's area and all the charachters came out and we got some great shots. We also got an autographed certificate for our dream come true.

Then the castmember asked us if we would like to be in the "Jingle Jungle Parade" that afternoon. What a fantastic day! We got hats and vests to wear and were put on a float right behind Minnie Mounse. They even took a few photos of us with a disposable camera and then gave my son the camera to finish taking pics during the parade.

I don't think there is any way to know if you will be picked, but the castmember who approached us commented on the fact we were all wearing red shirts (that Christmas card thing) and looked festive.

Also during our trip we got a free souvenir popcorn bucket with popcorn at a snack stand for naming 3 charachters from Toy Story. And we got escorted to the front of the Star Tours line (there was a 30 mintue wait) by Darth Vader and 2 stormtroopers. We were the last in line for photos and the castmember with the charachters asked us if we were going to ride and when we said "yes" she said I think I can help you out. So after our photos the trio escorted us with their blasters to the front of the line. Very fun for our family since we're all Star Wars geeks.

So if you're going to Disney this year I think you've got a good chance of having at least a little dream come true.

We watched another family get escorted by CMs to board Soarin' via the FP queue first thing in the morning on 12/23 -- guess their Dream was to ride it all by themselves. I was stunned when all of us in the Standby queue's Gates A, B, and C got Dream FastPasses as well. (As if riding Soarin' first thing in the morning isn't "Dream" enough!)

Our visit was from Nov 4-11th, and I am having such a great time reading all of these fantastic moments that I had to share ours!

Our daughter (7) received many of the little certificates for various things. Some I can remember off hand were hula-hooping in DTD, Tic-Tac-Toe in Frontierland, answering questions in the gift shop outside of PoTC, etc.

We also recieved dream fastpasses are Animal Kingdom one morning while waiting to get on the little flying dinos ride (sorry, I can't remember the name). On our very last day we got the dream fastpasses at MK while waiting to ride Cinderella's Carousel. This was great since we hadn't planned on riding much that day knowing it would be crowded.

I think the best thing was while we were waiting to ride the teacups a CM walked up to us and anounced that it was our "unbirthday"! She then gave us an 8x10 picture of Alice & The Mad Hatter and led us straight onto the ride. She had everyone waiting sing happy unbirthday to us! It made our day!

We had such a great trip! We are planning to go back in Nov again before the YoaMD ends, but I'm also trying to squeeze in another trip this spring! But just as everyone else has said, Disney is magical no matter what!!

Just curious...how did your son get selected? Were cast members given the chance to express their interest and asked to apply, or were they hand-picked by supervisors, etc.? I think this would be the greatest job ever, making someone's dream come true on a daily basis!

wow.. I love reading all these dreams!

My little girl got tinkerbell pins given to her.. one for her and one to share.. she gave the other to another little girl who had a lanyard on too with her Daddy.. also trading pins! It made their day!

I'm enjoying reading these soooooooo much and I'm getting so excited for our trip TOMORROW! Yes, we leave in less than 24 hours. I hope that my DH and I experience the YOAMD!

Does a 30% refund on our resort stay and 4 3 day park hopper tickets count as Dream come true? If so, we got it. We went to WDW Dec. 1-10 and had a bad experience with the pop warner kids. I emailed Disney about this just to let them know how this pop group was making the "regular" guests vacation a nightmare. That is those of us that actually had a run in with them. The nicest CM called me and thanked me for the email and granted me a Dream. My family is so excited.

Today after little mermaid we were asked to go over to animation can't remember the name the one where they talk to the animated characters anyway we all got ears, it was really nice. Didn't see anyone else wearing them. Can't wait Till Tomorrow. Happy new year!!!

I took my DS5 on an overnight to Disney 12/30-12/31. We went straight to Animal Kingdom and the first thing we did, after getting a FP to Safari, was head over to the Lion King. He had on his First Visit button and his Birthday button. We waited briefly for Lion King, but the line closed right when we got to the front. A lovely CM saw him and arranged for him to be a VIP for the next show! He and I had special front row seats in the Giraffe section and he got to be in the Lion King parade at the end of the show (he actually could have been in a couple of other parts but DS is shy and wouldn't go!) It was such a wonderful heart memory.

PS- I made sure to go back to the CM at the end of the show and thank her personally for being so kind to him and making his brief trip so incredibly special.

We were at the world for 11 days from 10/21 to 10/31 and stayed at Pop Century. When we arrived at Pop and got off the Magical Express bus our DD7 was approached by a CM and asked to be the "Pop Star of the Day". They wrote her name in chalk, traced her hands on the sidewalk, gave her a Pop Star button and balloons, took her picture, and delivered a photo to our room. Her name stayed on the sidewalk for the rest of the day behind the velvet ropes! Probably not part of the YOAMD but magical none the less!

I tried to post a picture but I don't have enough posts....so if you would like to see it you will have to do it the hard way and replace the commas with periods:

This was such a cute picture, I want everyone to see it!

We just returned yesterday from a week at WDW. Not long enough never is. The only thing that happened to us and it was not really part of YOMD is that on our last day we went to MK and there was a gentelman at the front and he asked us if we would be interested in keeping a diary of our day by logging in everything that we did and when we did it. We agreed and recieved a $20.00 Disney gift card at the end of the day when we turned it in. I did not see much magic being given out. Saw a few people with YOMD ears and a few with ultimate Fast Pass. We saw several members of the dream team walking around but not giving out anything. We had a good trip anyway. It was very very crowded and we will never go this time of year again. We are going to try to go again at the end of May. Much better time to visit. Hopefully we will rec some magic then. :stitch2: :tink: :goofy:

Keep this line going. I love reading about the magic of WDW

On Dec 20 our first day in the parks, within the first hour we got Dream Fast Passes at the Magic Kingdom. What a great wish no lines.

I was at WDW December 16 - 22nd and while we didn't win any dreams my son did get three Magical Moments certificates, one for "recycling" at Epcot, one for playing toss the bunny at Splash Mountain with some really great CM's and for being an honorary Power Ranger. He was picked out of the crowd to come sit in the Power Ranger car at MGM so that I could take photographs of him with all the Power Rangers. For a six year old little boy that was a dream come true!
