Can you freakin believe it???!!!!
I work in an elementary school in a very wealthy community and one of our kid's dad has been working with Phil Collins on the Tarzan score. So today, we find out that he's coming into our school, but everything is kind of hush-hush--no hoopla, etc. The day goes on as usual and I kind of forget about it. Well about 12:45 we get a call that yes, he's on his way. The plan was for him to go to the kid's (of the Dad whose friends with "PHIL") music class and just chat with the kids, etc. Well, it just so happens I'm really good friends with the music teacher so I got to sit in on the whole thing. He sang (solo except for piano) "You'll be in My Heart", another song from Tarzan that didn't make the cut and a little of "In the Air Tonight". He also talked a lot, answered questions, etc. and was generally just a real cool guy!
He's quite short with a slight build, but that voice blew us away. We were all looking at each other like "are we really in this room with Phil Collins singing for us?" A very surreal moment. Thanks for letting me share
