Yeah....character dining 7 weeks out.....

We just booked a last minute vacation in mid-May so I figured there would be no way I would get character dining. I really wanted Chef Mickey's (of course) and they actually had one for the morning we were coming into town so it wouldn't work but I actually got a breakfast at Crystal Palace on Mother's Day and a lunch at Garden Grill......this will be my boys first trip (3 and 5) so I am very excited I got these....any suggestions with these two or any comments on how I might land another Chef Mickeys'......

We did a last minute stay over Thanksgiving and I kept calling daily from our room trying to get ADR for a few days ahead. Just keep calling!!

I found that Hollywood and Vine Playhouse Disney Breakfast and Lunch always had an opening and my DS4 really wanted to dine with June so that worked for us.

They also have Jojo, Goliath, June and Leo. They dance, sing, play games. It was fun. The lunch was nothing to talk about.

DS4 met June - therefore the lunch was worth every penny!

If you are going to AK, try for the Tusker House breakfast. Food is very good and the characters are Mickey, Donald, Daisy and Goofy. They also do a parade/party thing so it is a good substitute for Chef Mickeys.

Keep calling and checking! People change their ressies all the time!

At MK, Liberty Tree has a great dinner, family style all you can eat. Mickey and friends are there. It is one of out favorites.

MGM's Sci Fi and 50's Prime Time are awesome too.

Congrats on the last minute trip... we are there then too! Have agreat time!

I've never been to CP for breakfast, but have been to lunch and dinner three times and LOVED IT! I'm sure it will be good during breakfast also.

On our last trip in October, I called that day and they told us to come right over, so we got into Chef Mickey's pretty easily-try that.

I called a few weeks ago, less then 2 months before my trip during a pretty busy time and I was able to get all my ADR choices. Some times are a little earlier or later then I might have picked but I was extremly suprised how easy it was to get a Crystal palace breakfest and Garden Grill lunch.

I was having the same problem with Chef Mickey's for my May trip! I have called about 2-3 times daily for the last week and finally got a reservation! Just stick with it!

I went to WDW in November and needed a reservation for dinner in the MK for the day we were going..we wanted Tony's but it was not available. I called a few times per week for about 16 weeks and still nothing. So we left the dinner open and enjoyed our day in the MK..around 3:00pm a called the dining phone number from my cell phone and "PooF" there was two different times to choose from for Tony's. The CM said the best time to call and check for a cancelled ADR is the night before or the day of..that's when most people cancel...
