So in somewhat of a nice Christmas surprise we received our Disney package today including our luggage tags for our 1st trip to Disney in late Jan. So I booked WL instead of POR as a surprise and am trying to figure out how to hide this from DW until we get there. Also will I receive any other packages prior to departure?
THanks in advance.

I have no info for you but I wanted to say how exciting for you! :cool1: If your wife is anything like me she will start to stress that the tags have not come yet. So, I don't know how to keep that a secret. Hopefully someone else can help with that.

First Yeah for you what a great Christmas gift. It's easy for me to hide htings from my DH because well I plan everything. I am actually surprising him for our upcoming trip and upgraded our resort to BC- Club level So excited to see his face. Now this is what I do. I show him the luggage tags and that's it seeing the DME says your resort. I wait until we're checking into the airport to apply the tags to our luggage. He's usually busy w/ the kids and what not that he doesn't notice what the tag says. Then when we get there to get in line for our bus is when he figures it out. Seein you have to get in line for your resort it's kind of hard to hide it then. Good Luck be sure to let us know how it turned out.

That is so exciting! Can you tell you put them away in a safe place until the day of your departure? You will receive your travel documents in a separate package and they will have your hotel info listed on them. You will need to take these with you for check in just in case there are any computer gliches along the way.

LOL! I read your post wrong and though you were the *wife* hiding the surprise from your *husband*....instantly thought "No problem! - He'll never notice"...even polled my DH who confirmed....then saw you are trying to suprise a woman....you do have a rough one there! She'll notice....:rotfl2: Good Luck!

LOL my husband never pays attention either - I do all the planning - last trip I changed our resort many times and even in the end we did a split stay - each time I changed something I mentioned it to him and asked what he thought, he always just says "if thats what you think" and he really wasnt even paying attention when at the airport on way down someone else asked him where we were staying, he looked at me and said "Honey, where are we staying?" LOL. He never pays attention!

Actually this package had luggage tags and coupons for a stay in it and on the very first page it had our hotel info. Will we still receive another package?

As a husband who recently surprised DW with a trip to WDW, I'm thrilled to know there are more of "us" out there.

I had decided not to wait to the last minute to spring it on her, just in case she had some reason not to go (I didn't want to lose any money so I told her just before the 45 day out mark). Needn't have worried- she went nuts, jumping up and down and pulling out her suitcase to pack!

I'd suggest telling her at least a few days in advance so she can have a stress free period of time to get ready. As other posters have said, once you get into line at the ME, she'll know where she's going, so the trick will be not letting her see the documents/tags beforehand. For me, I just said "my treat, I'll look after everything, you just relax".

Have a fantastic time!!:yay:

Yeah its nice to know there are other guys who plan stuff out there. The surprise is where we're staying. She knows we're going to Disney. I'm doing all the planning though. ;)

I SOOO wish my husband would do this!! But, since I always do all the planning, and my husband is the go-along-with-whatever-i-plan-and-doesnt-care-about-anything-in-advance-but-always-has-a-blast-once-there-type-of-guy, I dont really see that ever happening! I sure hope your wives appreciate what you are doing!!

as a husband who surprised his wife big time with a trip to DW at the end of our second honeymoon to Maine, it can be done. My wife thought we were spending two weeks bed and breakfasting our way around the coast of Maine. She got a wake up call at 4:30 in the morning with a nice little "if you want to see mickey, you better get up and look under your pillow". There were two plane tickets to orlando leaving in 2 hours. I had them under my pillow until she sat up in the dark to answer the phone. She didn't have one clue. Women can be tricked just as much as us dopey husbands. :lmao:

Be smart, think about how to handle conversations. Maybe your surprise could be a late night the night before you leave suprise moment by giving her the tags to put on the suitcases. Have a folder ready with all the information about the "new" hotel you will be staying in. She will be looking at it until you arrive. You yourself need to brush up on the hotel so you can answer her giddy questions. Have fun with the pre trip stuff as it only enhances your trip!
