Normally, I would be crying because of having to cancel a wonderful Disney cruise but this time I'm so happy to cancel because I have a great reason!!!

After years of trying, oh so fun tests, and major surgery...I'm Pregnant!!!!

Sorry but I just had to share the news! DH and I are already planning this little one's first trip to WDW!!

Congratulations, could not think of a better reason to have to cancel. Good luck to all.

Congratulations! When are you due and when is the first trip planned? If possible, you know a child in the womb can be made to be born loving Disney if you properly start the brainwashing early :cool1:

Congratulations and very best wishes to you!!

LOL about the Disney brainwashing!

thats fantastic news....what a blessing a child is

congratulations:)

From someone who's been there and done that, CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What fun to start planning for your little one's first trip to Disney World!! ::MinnieMo ::MickeyMo

Congratulations!!!

Been there, done that...

...and speaking from experience, I'd suggest that you wait until later to cancel the cruise if you have not done so already. We've unfortunately had the experience of canceling (actually changing reservation date by a year) because of pregnancy only to have things go wrong in the 7th-8th week and had to uncancel (change the reservation data again) back to the original. Since the price of your cabin is set based on when you change the date (not when you made the original reservation), it cost us $$$ to make what was unfortunately a needless change.

The facts of life are that the average healthy women has about a 10% chance that a pregnancy will end in a miscarrage. The odds drop significantly once a heart beat is detected and once the pregnancy has developed past 12 weeks. I don't say this to scare anyone, but do want to make people aware of the need to properly plan.

I appoligize if my post sounds a bit like a downer. I didn't intend it to be. :guilty:

I wish nothing but the best, specifically for OP as well as in general to all who read these post and become pregnant. I also understand the OP's joy at this time I have made a similar post in this forum myself.

But since these boards are also ment to help teach others from our experience, my only intent was to help pass on a little wisdom.

[EDIT]

DH and I are already planning this little one's first trip to WDW!!
Just because you'll have a little one doesn't mean you have to replace a cruise for WDW. You'll obvious have to book a cruise for some time in 2006, but you can book an unborn child. TBA is placed on the reservation until the child has a birth date and a name.

Karen, congratulations to both you and your dh. I'm sorry you have to cancel your cruise but can't think of a better excuse to cancel. I know you're planning your little one's first visit to WDW but think of the fun you'll have planning your first cruise with the little one!!! Again, congratulations :Pinkbounc

I had to cancel my 1st anniversary cruise because I got pregnant. Cruise was scheduled for 4/18/91 -- so was my due date. Little bugger came 4 days early -- I could've gone!! :duck:

Of all the reasons to cancel, this is the best! God bless you and your baby!!!
There will always be a cruise for your both!!!!

Oh, I so know how thrilled you are! My warmest congratulations to you. God bless you and keep you and your little one, in His hands.

Sincerely,
Ursula
