i've actually been awake now for about 2 and a half hours! i have to be to work by 7:30am and it's about a 30 minute drive to get here...

good morning everyone...

just found out that a guy i went to high school with has been activated and sent over to iraq, well, over in that area anyway. we were never really friends or anything, but he's a good friend of another friend of mine that i talk to frequently. it's got to be scary for them going over there and not knowing what the heck is gonna happen...it's scary enough for us, let alone someone dealing with it up close and personal...

I have a nephew that just got married last May. They are both in the Navy. She, his new wife, was just activated to Iraq for 6 months......left Jan 8th. Very sad....

Now I need to buy airfare....I hate doing this....I just keep watching. I want it to come down its too high
but what if it goes up Oh what to do....what to do I hate this...I hold my breath everytime I go to look

the airfare waiting game is a nervewracking one! when i worked as a travel agent, i would see fares go up and down all in the same day...best advice i can offer you is if you are happy with the price that you find, go ahead and purchase it...you could get bit by the fare increase bug if you don't!! i know that as an agent, if the fare went down a significant amount, i could refund the difference by giving the passenger a voucher in the amount of the difference. that was a few years ago and with all of the cutbacks, i don't know how they handle that now. but if your fare goes down a bunch...you can get the money back, BUT you will be charged a penalty fee. anytime you change your ticket, they nail you on that one...and this is considered a change. so, realistically, it would have to go down more than $100...so say it went down $125...you would only get back about $25 after you consider the penalty fee...

like i said, if you've found a price you're happy with, i'd buy it...it's better than playing the waiting game!

I have never paid that. Once I paid $220 and that was the highest. Every other time was between $156 and $180

OUCH this hurts!!

But I do have my room and my car did I mention that already

and I even got MIke to want to go without complaining....he's going and he's going to have a good time and if he isn't...having a good time...I won't be aware of it.. ...its part of the deal I'm even going to make him sign something saying so....cuz in return......

Southwest is showing $272 pp/RT...they have some non-stops from MHT but the price is the same even on the ones that have a stop/change. That's too much IMHO.........we were under $200 last month flying in & out of Tampa (becasue we were over that way for the end of our trip. I'm seeing other airlines (with seat assignments ) at around $220 but not non-stop.........
I'm not buying until/unless it drops to $200 or so. Just can't justify the higher price....or the extra travel time on the connecting itineraries, when it is such a short trip.

Air fare - BLEH! Everything jumped a couple of weeks ago, and it's stayed over $200 since. I was looking and looking at a price of $170 out of Atlantic City right after Christmas, but I waited too long Now it's about $209-230, and that's too high for me. Hell, last time I paid $118!! (but that was with a connecting flight - to save $300, you'd better believe I'd consider it again, even though it was a loooong day).

I'm waiting it out - maybe after Easter the fares will drop.

and I found the voucher receipt for our 1998 trip.....and our air then was 280 per person.....now we were complaining that we had to pay 304 this trip......I will remember this when we have to book again to fo someplace else...........
I am soooooo thankful that tomorrow is Friday.....and the little rug rats that I care for go back to SCHOOL......tomorrow night I am going out to eat with my sister .....a lady from Arkansas .....my nieces and who ever else wants to go....we go to the TIN TIN BUFFET.....and I do believe that I am going to get some of that good plum wine that I love so much........can't tell yuo what the brand is.cause it always gets deleted.....geesh....ta thnk I would say a ca ca word or what......have a good night everyone

Debbie, I wish soemone had told me about those progessive glasses.......I have "reading glasses" (I just got a couple of weeks ago) ..but when I look at something other than what I'm reading it seems blurry until my eyes adjust...I don't need any correction except for the close up/reading...not even computer (yet). But I'm getting headeaches and blurring takingthem on and off and I look like a granny when I peer over them looking up from what I'm reading

Christine- Don't scare us like that!!! I wasn't sure what to think when I read that but was glad to figure out it was only a temporary leave. Have fun at the Atlanta meet!
I really should be asleep right now since I have to be at the hospital in less than 6 hrs. for more fun tests. They're gonna do another Nerve Conductivity Study (the fun one where they shocked my arm and hand to death but this time they're including my neck and shoulder as well, I believe) and they are also doing an EMG that sounds even more uncomftorable. Apparently they feel that inserting a needle under the skin of my arm or shoulder and sending electrical impulse through it is a good thing to do. I'm not so sure, I think it sounds too painful and scary to be a good idea.
Hope ya'll have a more pleasant morning than it sounds like I will!

Okey.....I was wicked tired last night and the typos were a result of that.......the real name of the plum wine is F*U*K*I plum wine and it is delicious........actually the best kind to get......the others are like getting store brand cola to Pepsi or real coke.......today is going to be another heat wave.....at least 40.....and I am really excited about it....then tomorrow another stupid rain sleet and snow mixture and then sunday all snow and another storm monday night.....so the weather in Maine stinks....I finished my soon to be born baby grandsons afghan ......now to do the blue one for the winter time....hope you all have a great day .....
