It's Monday and we spent the ENTIRE morning at work having a meeting with a HR consultant/facilitator type person...to be a better "team"...instead of getting our work done which I thought was the goal of the team. But I was good and played nicely

Is anyone getting snow today...we are supposed get some but it hasn't started yet..............

it's been snowing here off and on. no real accumulation though. sometimes when i look outside the window, it looks like a blizzard and other times it's just stray snowflakes...

and matthew is mad...he just washed the car yesterday...hehehe

OK, so the car guy gave me a price "without approval of his sales manager" on the car I tried yesterday. I told him I was going to think about it. It seems reasonable to me based on what I've researched on the internet for that model/year/options when you factor in what they probably paid at auction then their expenses and profit etc. It's lower than the little printed out thingie they gave me of course. I'm not trading anything and I've never bought a used car from a dealer before. But should I offer less? DH thinks they are building in a hefty profit and I should offer less. Did I mention I hate the car-buying process?

and you're right about the pig...the pig isn't naked......nad is......which is suppose to be me.......but not anymore but then again....do pigs wear clothes in the first place probably not.....so I guess pumba is correct...the pig is naked.....unless somebody wants to buy him a piggy outfit

OK, another topic: DD has been asked to the senior prom (MY BABY!?!?!) ....by her "friend" since childhood, ride-to school-sweetie-pie-'just friend'- who bought her red roses (!?!) when sick last year...friend, just as friends not to be confused with the BOYfriend she has been going out with for a year who of course is a junior like her. So, she told the "friend" yes and then discussed it with the BF who is "OK with the dance part but kind of sketchy about the after-prom part when 'things' (!?!!?) can happen" and I'm about the whole deal.........how can you go to a prom with someone when you're "going out" with someone else?!?!? Sigh

I'm confused.

Ann--I would offer less than the price. We got ours for more than $2000.00 less than the asking price at the dealership. You have to remember you are looking at a convertible and not many people are buying them at this time of year. They are, in essence, costing the dealer money by sitting on the lot.
If you offer less, the worse that can happen is they say no, so, what have you lost?

As to the prom thingie--- all girls want to go to the prom. Doesn't matter about the BOYfriend thing--this is the prom!

Sorry about the used car price question....I didn't answer it cuz I honestly don't know Did you try the Kelley blue book site....can't you put the details of this car there and get an quote of what the car should cost? I'm not sure but I thought you could that.

About the prom....she should go...doesn't have to be her boyfriend. When my son Jason went to his jr. prom....all the kids were getting dates way back in September....by the time the prom rolled around in May...my son had a girlfriend but he had to go to the prom with the girl he committed to. His girlfriend at the time went with her sisters boyfriend...who was a junior at the time.
Now MIke is going this year sharing a limo with 4 other couples...one of the guys, our neighbor, he's a senior who has a girlfriend, that has already graduated, but he's taking a junior to the prom just because she needed a date. I believe its done a lot....you should let her go. And for these after prom things....that the school sets up....they are very supervised....I wouldn't worry about that. Better to be there then worrying aout drinking and driving.

i'm not one to ask about the whole car thingy...but good luck with whatever you decide!

the prom thing...i remember when i was a senior. i really wanted to go with a guy named mark...i thought he was sooooooo cute! anyway, he and i flirted the entire school year and when he was finally free and single, prom season was upon us! my friend wanted us to go together and so she took it upon herself to set us up. when she asked mark about it, he was cool with the idea, BUT he had already committed to his ex. i guess he asked her to prom before they had broken up and she already had her dress and everything...so he went to the prom with his ex...prom etiquette is so weird. i find it odd that your daughter would go with her friend when she has a boyfriend, but you know, she's gotta do what's going to make her happiest!! that's my motto!!

more snow on the ground today. i'm done with winter!! make it go away!!

i am so ready to go back home and go back to bed...

Well...LONG day......the trials and tribulations of teenagers.....DD (on top of coming down with what sounds like a chest cold) told the BF about the prom invite that led to a "near" break up with them today.............the girlfriends to her face were supportive then (allegedly) behind her back told the bf that they thought she was being unfair to him, which egged him into making an issue of it which turned into other issues.......long story..............I guess they have decided at the moment that they are not breaking up but there were hours tonite of tears and heartache on top of being sick she IS going to the prom "as friends" but especially after today does not want to pass up the prom date in case the bf and her DO actually break up by prom time (whioch would be my guess). sigh

sending {{{{{hugs}}}}} and pixie dust to your daughter ann...i am so glad that i am not a teenager anymore! i don't think i could go through all of that again!

went back to the home showroom last night after work. we had some questions that had to be answered...got everything straightened out and now we're just waiting to make sure that we are approved...this waiting is agony...

matthew's meeting with his boss today to ask for either a redefinition of his job or a raise. we're hoping that they will give him the raise. it would help soooo much. they have poor matthew doing way too much that's not even part of his job and he feels that they are taking advantage of him. cross your fingers for him...

i've got a few things to do this morning so i'll catch everyone a bit later...have a good day!!

More snow here today too I am SOOOOOOO tired of it !

Debbie, DD and the bf at one point said they weren't going to be so "serious" and were going to spend more time with their respective same sex friends or in groups instead of just together, that was difficult to stick to since their time is already limited by school work, sports, family and other activities.

She looked horrible this morning going off to school...getting her period, coughing, and just "upset" by the other stuff. I guess I'd better get going on finding her a nice Valentine treat from mom to make her feel better.
