How long does it take to get from YC to Epcot? Do you go by boat to IG? The opening at 9am to future world, will they let you in the gate at IG before 9am to walk over?

The walk to Epcot is less than 10 min. from YC. There are times when they let you in before 9 and there are times when they wait until 9. We have never had any problems making it to the front of the park at park opening. Its fun to walk through World Showcase with basically no one else around.

You can either take the boat (it stops at the BW before going to IG) or you can walk. As the PP said, it's about a 10 minute walk (about one-third of a mile or six football fields). Walking will be faster, but the boat is nice (save your feet for all the walking during the rest of the day). I would guess the boat is about 15-20 minutes depending on how many people are waiting at the docks and on how long you have to wait for the boat to arrive.

Once, we stayed at the Dolphin, and they would not let us in at the International Gateway until they let the main group in at the main entrance. We missed rope drop because of that. :(

Another time, we were at the Swan, and were allowed through early. We walked to the area where the rope drop is held, and got there in time to watch it from the World Showcase side. I liked that better!!

There's no rope drop at Epcot any longer. They keep everyone out of the turnstiles until the park opens.

By the time you walk to the boat landing at YC you could have walked 1/2 way to WS. It really is a nice walk along the lake. As pp, it is about a 10 minute walk but they do hold you at the turnstile until the park opens. Coming home, the boat can get crowded so besides maybe not getting a seat, it is faster to walk and then stop at Beaches and Cream on the way back! After all, you did all that walking all day, reward yourself!:)

That's what we do, love beaches. My kids wanted to ride the boat and my husband walked he beat us even though the boat was already at the marina

We stayed at the Beach Club. It was less than a 5 minute walk from the lobby to the Epcot Turnstiles.

So, from the Yacht Club, figure about 7 minutes.

As someone else mentioned, no rope drop show at Epcot. They get the word, and the turnstiles open
