What do you think? We're going Memorial Day wknd. We usually stay at WL. A CY room is $200 w/a code. I could get a YC standard room for like,,$222,i think. I know YC has stormalong bay,and i know the kids would love it. The gal on the phone couldn't tell me if the YC standard rooms come w/a balcony or not,or what type of view a standard has. My kids like the WL pool, and riding the boat. Are the YC rooms any larger? I'm thinking of going w/YC for SAB,,but then i like the balcony and atmosphere at WL. any input? I usually get WL for around $150 w/a code. I 'm thinking about goint to YC,since it won't be that much more expensive....any thoughts?? thanks!

I love both resorts....but I love the YC best! the convince of the YC, so much to do!! roll out of bed and you are in Epcot or MGM! and YC has balconies, it is just the BC that has some stand=up ones!!

If you'll be frequenting the Magic Kingdom, I would stay at the Wilderness Lodge. If you'll be steadily visiting the Epcot area and MGM, then I would stay at the Yacht Club. Convenience and location should govern your decision. I've stayed at both and now that our children have grown and left the nest, we always stay at the Yacht Club. :)

This Aug I want to try BCV - DS13 wants to return to WL
so we're doing 6nights VWL, 2nights WL & 6nights BCV

Have stayed at both, and YC is a no brainer! WL is very nice, but not even close to YC in amenities, location, and ambiance.

To answer your question, yes the YC rooms are bigger, most have two queens and a daybed, the sink area seems bigger too, and they have the fridge in a cabinet in the dresser. Also more drawer space for clothing. It's a great location, bus to MK never was a problem for us, walk to EPCOT and take the boat to MGM. SAB looks great, when we stayed there in Feb. it was closd for refurbishment. The restaurant choices are numerous, between YC, BC, the Boardwalk and all of EPCOT. That said my 10 year old has requested to go back to WL for HER birthdya trip in June, we were JUST at the GF for oue other daughter's birthday trip and I made sure to tell KElly that she could pick any hotel. She chose WL because she loves the theming and the boat to the MK. Both hotels have the advantage of being pretty much enclosed, no walking between buildings in the rain like we found at GF and the Poly. IF you check out the www.allearsnet.com website they have pictures of both. The square footage at WL is smaller than at YC but if you got a room with bunkbeds this might make it seem more spacious. I also booked a standard room at YC but upon checkin asked for an upper floor room so we could see out and was upgraded to water(lake) view for free. Great view. Saw illuminations from the full balcony.

We have also stayed at both and prefer the Yacht Club. The rooms are bigger. Standard rooms have views of either parking lot, tennis court, or wedding gazebo. Request on your reservation: garden view/lake side and you have a much better chance of receiving a better view. All rooms have balconies except for some of the suites and first floor rooms. We had a 1st floor room, which has a patio, and loved being able to stroll out into the grassy area and even down to lake to view Illuminations without locking up.

The Yacht Club ROCKS!
