We're going to WDW from December 17 until December 26. I want to stay at 2 resorts. In order to get the best rates (value season), I need to stay the 17th and 18th at one hotel and then check in to the 2nd hotel on the 19th. Holiday season starts on the 20th. Which one would you want to be at for the longest time?

I'm thinking the last 2 days (Christmas Eve and Christmas Day) we may not go to the parks, or will only go for a few hours early, to avoid the big crowds, and spend the rest of the day lounging at the hotel. I know we'll spend a lot of time at Epcot and MGM, but a couple days at MK too.

If we go to Poly first, then we'll probably go to MK the first 2 days (Sunday and Monday). Are these good low attendance days at MK?

Which would you stay at longest (Poly or YC)? Thanks!

We've made 3 trips to WDW the week before Christmas, usually arriving on the 17th or 18th and staying until the 26th. Crowds are lightest when we first arrive ~ basically not what I'd consider crowded at all. The closer you get to Christmas Day the more and more people are at the parks, especially the MK.

So, I would stay at the Poly first and visit the MK when you first arrive. Then move to the YC for the remainder of your stay. You have such easy access to Epcot and MGM from there and can go to a park for a few hours and then return to the hotel if you wish. Hopefully you can lounge by the pool a bit depending upon the weather :sunny: It's nice having the BW right there too; plenty to do during the time you aren't at a park.

You picked a great week to visit WDW ~ you'll love it there during the Christmas season
:)

I would agree--first two days at Poly to enjoy MK as much as possible, then last several days at Yacht club. BTW, I heard that the Yacht club puts out Christmas cookies near the tree at Christmas. We had a Christmas stay at YC and didn't see them, but I heard about it from another poster. Just wanted to point them out! :mickeybar

Thanks. That's exactly what I was thinking and was hoping you would say so. I'm glad to hear from someone who's been there at that time. Thanks again.
