What is the difference in rooms at YC vs BC? I know you get to use the pool for both hotels, just was wondering if there are pros or cons on each room.

We have stayed at both and really consider them 2 wings of the same resort. The only differences I can think of are:

Theme
BC - 50% of the rooms have a full balcony and 50% have a Juliette balcony which is much smaller and you can only stand out there.
YC - 99% of the rooms have a full balcony

If you hollow the rooms out to an empty shell, they are the same. It all comes down to decoration. YC is more navy blue, gold, and red with nautical touches, and a boat/anchor motif. BC is pale grays and blues, fish/seashell motif.

Now, I will say, BC just underwent a GORGEOUS renovation. So, while my preference is YC, I will admit that currently, those rooms won't feel as "fresh" as those at BC, but they are still lovely, and there are many recent reports of them being just fine, just not as recently updated. If you check the BC/YC thread on this board, you'll meet some very friendly people and can see lots of pics on the first page.

In addition to the info already given:

BC rooms are closer for walking to Epcot or the Boardwalk - although the difference is only a few minutes. YC has the first pick up and drop off by the bus. YC is also closer to the boat dock. BC has the main quick service restaurant. BC also has the character meal restaurant - Cape May Cafe.

Very little difference between the two. As Dansdad said it is like two wings of the same resort. We book whichever one is available for our dates/less expensive. WE like both for different reasons.

I would just look at the two online and go with the one that meets your needs/appeals to you or has the best rate/availability.

These are both great resorts!

Enjoy!!!

Location, location, location. Usually when they offer room only discounts the BC will be like 20% while the YC will be 30%. Have stayed on both sides, and honestly we prefer the BC side for several reasons, but mainly the proximity to EPCOT. Last time there stayed on the YC side and we were in the last possible first floor room on the corner nearest the Dolphin/Swan. Great view of the water, the Boardwalk, etc., but filling up mugs/getting food was like a forced march. It was actually closer to walk over to the Dolphin/Swan to catch a boat!

They're part of the same building, so you'll have equal access to Stormalong Bay and both sets of restaurants at each.

Beach Club was recently renovated, but with minimalist theming in its resort rooms. It has a gorgeous exterior, though. The Beach Club clientele is almost all Disney vacationers, while the Yacht Club has a nearby convention center and is home base for many conventioners.

The Yacht Club feels refurb-ready (you'll see bits of peeling wallpaper here or there), but it has more of the traditional Disney-resort type theming than the Beach Club now has. Unlike the Beach Club, almost all Yacht Club rooms have full balconies. It also has the more elegant lobby.

You can't go wrong with either. Since they share the same location and amenities, it's really a matter of price and style.
