YC Junior Suite or BWI Garden Suite?

Thanks for the information on the garden suites with the balcony. I know there are only a couple but I hope we get one.:goodvibes

Yes, 1 Goofy Family---I will post a thread when we get back about the BWI garden suite. I have greatly appreciated all the information that I obtained on the Dis boards for this trip and our previous trips as well.:thumbsup2

If SAB isn't a factor I would choose the BWI. Between the garden suites and the deluxe rooms, I would personally choose the deluxe room. I say that mainly for these two reasons, everyone gets a real bed, and you will be considerably closer to the lounge(and in the same building). Both are very nice though, so I don't think you can go wrong either way.

The BWI garden suites are very appealing, and I think the rollaway is a great idea! They are all located around a lovely rose garden and a beautiful quiet pool. The thing that holds me back is the sofabed problem, but the rollaway helps alot with that! We've had Boardwalk view and it's great, but I think I'd like the garden suites more -- much more privacy than a balcony on the Boardwalk.

For us, one of the kids was going to have to sleep in the sofa bed either way. We stayed in a deluxe room at the BC last time and DD slept on the day bed--but we were all in one room. Nice--but everyone is 4 years older and 4 years bigger!:lmao: I know the suite is open but with 2 levels it should feel a bit roomier. Let's hope!

I know some people would say do 2 rooms but we priced that out as well and it's a lot with club level. Also there is no guarantee that the rooms would be connecting. We were unable to book any 2bedroom villas anywhere in the Epcot area for our week.

Thank you Hockeymomr.
This is exactly what I was looking for. Not sure how I missed it in the first place...

I have a YC JS booked...but now I am thinking that I want the BWI GS! I didn't even really consider it, I thought it was a honeymoon suite. Here we go again...I can already hear my family laughing.

Has anyone actually slept on one of those sofa beds? I know comfort can vary on those things. The newer ones are actually quite comfortable.

I just called CRO to ask about the garden suites, the CM told me that they are 915sq. feet. Does that sound right? That seem like a lot of room! The CM didn't really seem to know much about the rooms and had to look for it, so I'm hoping she was reading the right info.

I would say that she did not have the right suite. I would think the garden suites are about 500 sq. ft. or smaller (standard Boardwalk rooms are 390 sq. ft). I think the 2 bedroom Boardwalk Villas are just a little over 1,000 sq. ft., so, I would think that 915 sq. ft. for the garden suites does sound a little large. Maybe call back and talk to another CM? Let us know if you get any other info, but wow that would be a lot of room if the CM was correct!

HockeyMomR: I posted the question over on the BWI thread, hopefully they'll know. I think I'll give CRO a call again in the morning to confirm. I emailed IPO earlier in the day to ask the same question, they directed me to CRO but did email me a layout of the rooms. If it's only 500sq. feet it must be very squishy in there! I hate to change my mind again, but the deluxe rooms seem to be a lot bigger. :confused3

Dis Ohana - Good luck with your research! :thumbsup2 Let us know.

Edit - I was so curious I called as well, CM said the same thing about the Garden Suite - 915 sq. ft. (wow - that seems really large....interesting!) and 644 sq. ft. for the Concierge Deluxe Room.

Those suites keep sounding better and better! After much discussion with the family we decided to go with the deluxe rooms. Our "kids" are really young adults and the 2 queen beds seemed like the better option. No one was too thrilled with the sofa bed. They also preferred the view of the boardwalk below them and being so close to the lounge.

I am so grateful to all that contributed to this thread. I'm amazed at how much information you all have! Have a magical trip and tons of fun planning!

Have a great trip....let us know about your trip and the room. My DS11 has been asking about staying at the Boardwalk for a couple of years, I think the BWI Deluxe Concierge Room would be perfect with older / teenage children. Have a good time!
