We have the FT package booked for Oct 10 -17 at the YC, standard room. To change to the concierge floor it would be $700 more. Now the big question... is it worth it?

It is myself, DH, and DDs 3 & 8. The DH is a picky eater. The kids eat like kids, on one day off the next. We were planning on getting a fridge in our room (cost will be $10 a day) and stopping on the way to get milk, cereal, water, soda, snack items. We will use a car service that allows a grocery stop. I figure it will be about $100 max at the grocery.

I heard there is not a quick stop restaurant nearby and it is pricey for the breakfast items at room service or Beaches and Cream.

Please let me know. Also has anyone used the concierge to get the hard to get res at Cindy's Castle after the 60 day out has past?

Thank you to all for your insight!!!

Can't wait to get there!!!!!!

cherylcat,
We're going in July and staying in concierge. Yes, the concierge got an 8:30 PS for Cindy's for 5 on July 6 for us. No calling at 7:00 am or anything. Just asked her to do it and bingo!! She told me they hold a certain number of tables for concierge guests. I guess if they are not used then at some time they are released to others, but it's a good way to obtain hard to get PS's with no hassle. Hope you enjoy your trip no matter what you decide!:)

NCBUZZ, when did the concierge contact you about making PS? I am staying at the YC concierge 8/24-8/30, and was wondering if I should try and make CRT PS's or just wait and ask them to do it for me. But I also don't want to blow it! :D

giggles 221,
It was between 120 and 90 days out. I received an itinerary planning sheet in the mail and I called the number on the sheet because I had already made several PS's myself.(the ones that can be made 120 days +) She was very helpful (I just love Amy Jacobson, she's the itinerary planner for YC, BC and BW). I told her the other things I had in mind (CRT breakfast, Breathless Illuminations Cruise, Fantasmic Dinner Package) and as these things came time to book she took care of it without me even calling back. Each time she'd book something, she'd give me a call and let me know it had been done, then she faxes or e-mails a copy of the complete updated itinerary to you. She booked Breathless at 90 days, CRT at 60 days, and Fantasmic at 30 days.
She's even doing "shopping" for me for gifts for the kids to have in the room when they arrive. (At no extra cost to me except for the cost of the items) YC concierge has been a blessing and everything is done with such excitement and truly making you feel
that your vacation is the most important thing in the world. It beats trying repeatedly on the phone to get a PS only to be disappointed. I was a little worried before she got the CRT PS for me and thought maybe I should call too, but now I know after having dealt with Amy that there's nothing to worry about. YC is the greatest!!!:teeth: Hope your vacation is wonderfull!!!!!!!:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Thanks NCBUZZ! I am so happy to hear such good things. I am at 79 days till I leave, but I just made reservations a few weeks ago, so I think I will wait a few more days before I start to panic that I haven't heard anything yet! You enjoy your upcoming trip as well!! :D

We just got our concierge planning stuff from fed-ex today. I agree Amy is wonderful she's helping me plan birthday surprises for my two DS's and also is taking care of little gifts that will be left for the boys each night. I am looking at this concierge thing as a convenience. Having breakfast in the morn. Don't think we'll be around much for the afternoon and evening snacks but anytime we come back to the room and can grab a quick soda or snack or at the end of the day we don't have to go to the bar to get a glass of wine it's there along with some wonderful desserts.

I figure it's an extra 700 dollars but with breakfast cost and time saved at 5 people per day. Breakfast usally runs us 45-50 with tips (that 400.00) Late night glass of wine alone is 5.00 at most bars and then desserts good ones at the resturants run 4-7 dollars. I think it's well work the money!!
