Finally made the decision to stay once again on a concierge level. Its so much stinkin' money, but this is a birthday trip so I'm livin' it up. Any one out there who has stayed YC concierge (std. room) that could give me some good room choices that I can mention to the front desk, I'd appreciate it. Also, we are using ME, so do I tell anyone when I get to the resort that I'm staying concierge or do I go straight into the lobby? Thanks.

Congratulations on your booking. We'll be at YC next month. From what I was told when I booked - all rooms at the YC are the same size. A standard room view request is up to the front desk at the time of check in. The YC has some funky views. (Not too many HM on the roof vents.) Have a great time. It's our most favorite place! :cheer2:

Congrats on your upcoming trip!! We were upgraded over Memorial Day Weekend (though paying rack rate or so of $335 a night, it's probably about the same price :rotfl2: ) and really enjoyed it. Our room over looked the entry way - I was fine with that because the last thing I wanted to do after a sweltering day at the parks was go on the balcony. :flower: The AC was ice cold (too cold for my girls but I LOVED it). The concierges there were really terrific, you're going to enjoy your stay!

Unfortunately, with the standard view, your most likely going to be overlooking the front entrance, parking lot or convention building. Not really much of a choice there. We had a standard view cl room at the YC this past December and that's what we overlooked. If a view is important, you might want to really consider upgrading to at least a garden view.

When the IPO department sends out your pre-planning packet, they'll include a concierge elevator key. That's all you need to access the 5th floor for a private check-in. You can bypass the lobby, unless you're checking in after 10pm or before 7am.

The rooms at the YC were very nice and the beds are super comfortable. We didn't mind the standard view because we were only there for 4 nights and didn't spend a lot of time in our room. The pre-planning staff is excellent, but I wasn't overly impressed with the lounge area. JMO though.
