I think I have picked the BC, but just want opinions from someone - we are looking for at Epcot resort - one that we can walk to Epcot or MGM and take in the Boardwalk festivites for a few days. Kids are 13 and 5. Pool is somewhat important. Also, of importance is being able to run down and grab a soda in our refillable mugs or a light breakfast of mickey waffles or egg sandwiches.

Any thoughts?

Neither BC nor YC have much of a choice in quick breakfast. We were just at BC 10 days ago.

In the market they have pastries, some boxed donuts and similar type stuff. The "hot" items were egg and cheese or egg, cheese and ham pre-made sandwiches that were prepared in cast iron skillets.

We walked over to BW and I think all of the breakfast choices (non sit down) are on the boardwalk which we thought would be a pain with kids.

On the refillable cups, it looked like all the station at BW were also out on the boardwalk or at the pool bar. At YC/BC you have the pool bar, Beaches and Cream or the market.

As stated non of your choices have a good quick counter service location.

It is the only downfall of these resorts. Beach Club has the only choice as noted, so I would go with them.

Now I really don't know what to do. BC and YC has places to refill mugs, correct? But the BWI, you have to go onto the Boardwalk somewhere to refill them? I thought they could only be used within the resorts.

We stayed at the Poly last year for 9 nights. I am trying to do something a little different, but we had such a wonderful time last year, I fear I can't life up to what the family is expecting again. I don't want to disappoint them, so the planning this year is so much harder!!!!

What about the Swan/Dolphin. They have some great choices for quick food-- Picabu's and the Dolphin Fountain.

They also have a refillable mug-- AND you get STARBUCKS!

you can refill you mug at the Beach Club Marketplace located in the genaral store, Hurricane Hannah's at the pool if open and Beaches and Cream. At BandC you have to stand in the to go order line, so not very convenient or quick.

At BWI you can refill at a couple locations on the Boardwalk and at the pool, again not very convenient or quick.

I can understand your concern because having Captain Cook's and places like it make the use of mugs so much easier and quicker to get food.

Can you walk to Epcot and MGM from the Dophin or Swan? I don't know much about those two resorts. Do they have the same perks as the other disney hotels? I know there is something different about them, but can't seem to remember what it is.

Yes you can walk from the Swan or Dolphin. They are located in between the BW and Yacht Club and use the same Disney transportation.

You can not have the Disney Dining Plan or charge to your room, but other than that, the perks are about the same. You get Extra Magic Hours.

If you are driving, they do charge a daily parking fee.

My personal favorite of those three is actually the YC - each room as a full balcony, many at BC don't. You certainly will have an amzing stay at any of them, though.

Enjoy!

This was our third August visit to BC/YC and we go back for the pool. To us, the pool is the main reason to stay at BC/YC with kids.

Have you considered concierge to address the breakfast issue? We stayed concierge in 2005 and 2006 and it makes for an easier time at breakfast.

After "touring" BWI trying to get a lay of the resort, there is no way we will stay there until our kids are much older (in the teens).

Based on what you are looking for I would go with the Beach Club! The Boardwalk does a the bakery but the line is usally out the door first thing in the morning. When the line is that long you most likely will be outside, which is fine when its a nice day out but if its raining who wants to grab a quick bit like that....at the beach club they have the marketplace although its not a sit down breakfast you can grab something quick and its indoors also there are a couple of little tables if you did want to stop and eat it...also the beach club has the character breakfast cape may cafe or you could walk over to the yacht club galley at the yc if you wanted table service for breakfast.

plus SAB is alot better than luna park for a pool!!!

ENJOY!!! you made the right decisiion you will have a blast!!!

plus you could always walk over to the boardwalk so that is a plus as well...

You definitely should stick with the BC. The Marketplace at the BC is the best quick service place in that resort area, plus SAB is amazing, and BC is the closest resort to Epcot. Swan & Dolphin are the furthest away from Epcot.

You will not be disappointed with the BC. If you really think you will though, then I would go back to the Poly. We love both resorts, different feels, different conveniences, but both are great.

and at the BC, if the limited tables and chairs are in use at the Marketplace, walk down the hall to a huge solarium. Nice comfy couches and chairs and coffee tables galore. You can eat your breakfast and enjoy your coffee in peace. :thumbsup2

And don't forget, you cannot use the magic express to and from the airport;)
