YC a good alternative to BC?

Hello all,

While we have never stayed there, DH and I have absolutely fallen in love with the Beach Club. We're interested in staying there for our next trip, but I see that the Yacht club is significantly less for the dates we'd like. I figure that it's no big deal to stay at the YC to save some cash - the BC is so close! Do you guys think there will be drawbacks to staying at YC when the BC is preferred?

I really don't see any drawbacks. Truthfully, I kind of look at them as one resort, even though they aren't.

The two resorts are very similar. To me BC has the edge, but there are many folks who prefer YC of the two. You can't go wrong with either!

As already mentioned, the two resorts are connected and share the amenities. For what it's worth, DW and I prefer YC.

Exactly how we look at it, & we've stayed at both. Plus I believe the YC is a shorter walk to the Yachtsman Steakhouse. ::yes::

We've stayed at both, and love both! We prefer YC to BC. More of an 'adult' atmosphere (since the Cape May breakfast makes the BC lobby busy with kids, versus YC is a convention resort so is more likely to have less kids).

Also, you get a full balcony at YC, while BC only half the rooms have a full balcony. We've stayed at BC 6x and never got a full balcony!

They share amenities - so the pool and views are the same. They both have their own restaurants, BC has an edge if you think you would make use of the marketplace often, but YC has an awesome bar if you want to be close to that! :rotfl: YC you need to add another 3 minutes to your walk to Epcot lol, but YC is closer to the dock for the boat to DHS, so it really is quite even to BC in the respect. We LOVE the full balcony though, so we were sold on that for our stay there. Honestly, they are both gorgeous resorts so you can't go wrong with either, but if it's going to be cheaper, I think the decision is a no brainer to stay at YC!

All other things being equal, we would always choose YC because balconies are a priority to us.

We like Yacht Club better....less crazy, more "adult". We used to love Beach Club but now Yacht Club is our preference.

That balcony sounds great! Do all rooms have one?

Almost all rooms have balconies at the YC. There is at least one room that doesn't have a balcony. Odds are strongly in your favour that you will get one, however.

If you haven't read through already, there is A DETAILED THREAD ABOUT BC/YC and in the FAQ section on the first page, it lists the exact differences between the two resorts. There is one room to knowledge at YC that does not have a balcony (I think is a suite of some sort though) so it is unlikely that you would get the one room that does not have a full balcony. Through the first page of the thread, you can see the difference in the two resorts as well (from room to decor) hope that helps!

The BC is about to finish a renovation to all the rooms. The YC renovation will start when the BC is complete, probably sometime this Fall.
