my step-dadhas been serving in Iraq for the past year. we got a call and he's on his way home. he should be home within a week. yay


Is anyone else here an army/military brat?

That's wonderful! you've gotta be a REALLY strong person to be in an Army family, I think. The soldiers are, of course, but the people who have to stay behind and wonder and worry whether their family member friend is okay have to put up with so much.

(FTR, I was *almost* an Army brat. Dad's in the reserves and they told us he woud be being shipped out, but after the most harrowing month EVER they told us that, no, he wasn't going after all. )

OMG! OMG! OMG! I JUST FOUND OUT WE MIGHT GET TO SEE HIM THIS WEEKEND. he's still finishing paperwork and stuff, but we might get to go visit him
