Yay or Nay?

Yay. I like perfume and have a number of favorites. I also choose DH's after-shave/cologne. That said, neither of us wear any to work or church, although I do use hand lotion and hairspray that have a bit of scent. A personal scent should NOT be noticed by anyone who isn't intimately close to you. Funny(ish) story, one of the only times I've ever been complimented on my scent was a colleague that apparently had a very keen sense of smell. From across the desk she could smell my Degree antiperspirant (shower fresh scent) and thought it was lovely.

Yay... but the only people who should smell it are yourself and those getting close. No one randomly walking behind you should be smelling you. The worst is when it is SO strong that you can taste it. Ugh.

I get headaches from a lot of scents, so I make sure I am careful with my own. I usually use a solid perfume from a small business that uses all natural products. I also stay away from anything too heavily floral, though a little as a background scent to the rest is okay. And I don't wear it when in tiny crowded spaces like on an airplane.

Definitely Nay - always - because there are just too many people myself included that have a very unpleasant reaction (eyes running, massive headachec, nauseated, etc.) to various scents. Should be thought of the same as cigarette smoke because it elicits the same kind of horrible reactions. Also, I know alot of people think "I only use a little" when...no, you really, don't because ANY is too much if a poerson is sensitive to what you're wearing. Or like the lovely receptionist at my work who thinks because hers cost a lot, it's OK - no, it stinks like bug spray .

More workers in my house today and more cologne. I wish businesses that have to enter people’s homes would be more aware of this and ask service personnel to refrain from cologne.

Nay. I have never used cologne and I don't care for very strong scents on people. I do use a basic aftershave lotion that barely has a scent after a minute or so, and I really only use that after a close shave which is usuaully a couple of times a week.

I really don't see the point in it for workers. I mean, sure, if they're going out at night, put some on, but to install appliances or whatever they are doing? I guess it's better than them smelling terrible though. I've known a few guys who work out in the heat and seem to not wear deodorant.

To cologne/perfume? As I sit here with a massive headache and my skin flaring because the Lowe’s installation guy is doused in cologne, I have to ask why? Why do people douse themselves in cologne? It’s offensive to me. It smells awful and gives me a giant headache. Sitting next to someone wearing cologne at the movies, on a plane or generally anywhere makes my body physically ill. It’s as bad as cigarette smoke.

So are you team cologne/perfume? Yay or Nay?

So many places are now scent free. Don't know why anyone wears it anymore.

I get headaches too. I used to love to make candles. But, I couldn't make any with scents.

Boy do I love a good smelling man, so that would make me a yes I only wear perfume or body sprays on special occasions and DH is the same. But when he does? Wow! I absolutely love it. That being said, we don't overdo it and generally only 1 or 2 spritzes that can be smelled only by someone that gets really close, like for a hug. I am absolutely not a fan of people that bathe in it or use it to cover for bad hygiene.

I find heavy scents very annoying. My 6th grade teacher reeked of a heavy scent every day.
So many years ago and I still remember it very well

We had a sub who was famous among the students for how miserable her perfume situation was. Made the whole classroom smell and it gave some of us headaches. I finally told my dad and he contacted the school who contacted the sub, they reported back to him she had no idea and felt awful and wouldn't wear it again. She stopped wearing it (or large enough amounts of perfume the whole room smelled anyway) and was no longer our most hated sub lol.

I am guilty of over-using the ol' scent. I use Armani, which was chosen for me by ex. But I was spraying too much of it on and my dear mum remarked on it. Ever since then, I've been very conservative with the stuff.

If you have an allergy I totally understand your concern. If it is just because you personally don't like to smell it and would rather opt for body odor, then you lost my sympathy. I worked for a school district once and the superintendent was a woman that I am sure used to bathe in whatever it was that she used. She could not sneak up on anyone because the moment she came through the door that fragrance wafted through the building and we all knew she was there. Annoying yes, but I shutter to think about what it was covering up. Mostly men, older men, use cologne so as not to offend anyone, not the opposite. Just be glad that they make the attempt to not offend.

Yay in moderation. I see nothing wrong with it in moderation when the scent doesn't shock someone from a foot away.

If I can smell you sitting behind me on a Friendship Boat at WDW I think you doused yourself a little too much. And my nose must really have a huge dislike for "old lady" rose smelling perfume. That is typically the scent that I am repulsed by.

However, I will take heavy perfume/cologne over body odor any day all day. I feel more nauseated by that than perfume/cologne. And sadly, I have ran into that a lot more often than someone bathing in perfume/cologne.
