Yay or Nay?

To cologne/perfume? As I sit here with a massive headache and my skin flaring because the Lowe’s installation guy is doused in cologne, I have to ask why? Why do people douse themselves in cologne? It’s offensive to me. It smells awful and gives me a giant headache. Sitting next to someone wearing cologne at the movies, on a plane or generally anywhere makes my body physically ill. It’s as bad as cigarette smoke.

So are you team cologne/perfume? Yay or Nay?

Nay. I like a more softer and gentler scent. Cologne is just too strong for how I like to wear stuff like that.

"Nay" for me. It doesn't give me a headache, but I don't particularly like any kind of perfume. I also don't like the residual smell of most laundry products on people's clothing. Especially when someone has used way too much Tide. Downy's "April Fresh" is the only scent I like and we use it sparingly.

I can handle light scents (like Green Tea or Issey Miyake Summer), but stronger ones can give me a headache and nausea. I tend to only wear perfume for parties and special events. Never to work or if I'd be on a plane or anything like that.

I'm team yay, but I usually only go for a light application unless I'm going to be sitting outside for hours on end in the heat. Days like yesterday, where it's upper 90s, humid, and I'm out there fore 5 hours...I had a heavier application because every little bit helps to fight the funk. I'm also considerate if I'm going somewhere like the allergist or someplace with tight spaces where it could bother others (movies are a great example).

Scents made me ill during pregnancy, otherwise they don’t bother me. I like scents now. But I don’t wear perfume out cause I know it really bothers many people.

It seems like most workplaces are scent free and I rarely smell anyone wearing cologne/perfume these days in public.

I wear perfume but I don’t douse myself in it and I find 99% of people don’t.

I also don’t understand people who bathe in scents. If I can smell you coming or smell you for 10-15 minutes after you leave you’ve gone overboard.

I wear perfume for special events but not all the time. My go to is this one that I received as a Christmas gift and I still have plenty left. Now that you mention it, I don't really notice other people wearing perfume/cologne in public these days.

Yeah, I always get a chuckle out of the person walking around work reeking of Tide. Fortunately it's not bothersome to me but not sure why anyone wants to smell like that.

Everything we buy is unscented. So I guess my vote is nay.
But a LIGHT application of perfume is okay on others. My wife was surprised at how many of her female co-workers not only apply perfume to their body, but spray it on their hair. That, is overkill.

I use a very light scent and it is spray on.
DH has allergies to scents and it doesn't bother him, so I am good.

I find heavy scents very annoying. My 6th grade teacher reeked of a heavy scent every day.
So many years ago and I still remember it very well

I wear perfume every day, but I do not douse myself in it and I wear good perfumes, like Guerlain, Dior, etc. They use high quality oils and other ingredients and a little goes a long way. As to the masculine scents, I find all of the so-called better brands to be offensive. My DH has always worn only Old Spice and I think it smells great even though it's a cheaper brand.
