Well, after a very abbreviated series last week at Fenway (dang rainout!), the Yanks and the Red Sox will take it up again tonight in the Bronx. Randy Johnson vs. Josh Beckett should be a great match-up.

Here's a little bit of trivia for you all: Six of the last World Series MVP's will be at the game tonight. (I say AT the game because Schilling isn't pitching.) BTW, I'm not such a total baseball geek that I figured this out by myself. I heard it on MLB Homeplate on XM Radio. I'll post the names as spoilers in case you'd like to try to answer on your own as to who's who.

Highlight to see the names:

2004 - Manny Ramirez
2003 - Josh Beckett
2001 - Randy Johnson/Curt Schilling
2000 - Derek Jeter
1999 - Mariano Rivera

The teams are still in a virtual tie for first place although the Yankees winning percentage is .621 to the Red Sox .613. By Friday morning someone will be clearly in first. So...

GO YANKEES!!!

We won't get to see tonight's game down here. Bummer! :furious: But, on a better note, tomorrow's and Thursday's are both on.

Oh and

GO RED SOX!!!

:teeth: :teeth: :teeth:

Highlight to see the names:

2004 - David Ortiz
2003 - Josh Beckett
2001 - Randy Johnson/Curt Schilling
2000 - Derek Jeter
1999 - Mariano Rivera

Manny Ramirez was the World Series MVP, not Ortiz.

Hey Figment where are you???? We're KILLING the YANKS!!!! GO SOX!!! The bottom of our lineup is going nuts tonight!!!! HA HA Randy Johnson!

Glad it didn't get rained out :)

10-2, Sox! :thumbsup2 We'll be seeing them play at Fenway in a week and a half - can't wait, DS8 has never seen the NYY in the flesh... :stir: :woohoo:

I'm checking in. I don't dodge the heat when my guys don't perform up to par. Beckett was a great acquisition by the Sox and the one "get" that really bothered me over the winter.

It may not officially be over but I think we can put this one in the Sox' column. Two more games to go this series and my money's on Mike Mussina tomorrow.

Oops, brain cramp on the '04 World Series' MVP. You'll have to forgive me, it's not like I watched it! :teeth:

Shh.....don't tell my fellow Sox fans, but I :heart Mussina. I don't know why really, I love to watch him pitch, I love the mysteriousness about him. I know lots of Yankee fans don't like him, but this Sox fan does :)
