Does anyone know if you can put Yankee candles in you hand luggage. Obvious reasons the weight !! :)

We have put the samplers in our hand luggage before - no issues.
Be aware, though, that airlines increasingly weigh hand luggage and stick to the weight limitations on these.

I bought a large candle jar through in hand luggage, when the bag came out the otherside of the x ray machine, i was stopped from getting the bag and then it was opened in front of me by a security bloke with gloves on:eek: i wasnt allowed to touch the bag until he did a thorough search and confirmed it was just a candle!

I've always put them in my suitcase - I'm one of those really light travellers and we rarely reach our luggage allowance. On our last trip you could still take 2 x 23 kilos each on Virgin in economy but I know they've reduced this to just 1 x 23 kilos. Even so, our heaviest case weighed only 21 kilos. Perhaps you could put other things in your hand luggage (books, shoes for example) to leave the extra weight for your candles if necessary.
