Virginia residents, were you aware that this place was opening up? I got this flyer in with my two new candle purchases today:

- Far more than just one of the world's largest candle stores. Yankee Candle Williamsburg is a totally unique, interactive, entertainment, shopping and dining experience.

- Stroll through our Holiday Park where it's Christmas every day with snowfall, an ice pond, Santa's Workshop, and quaint shops filled with holiday ornaments and decorations.

- Enjoy original animated musical entertainment plus activities like candle dipping and demonstrations of colonial candlemaking.

- Step back into an earlier, simpler time with the charms of our classic General Store.

- Bring home a fresh touch of style with decorator fashions from Yankee Candle Home.

- Savor freshly made fudge, snacks and quick meals in the store or grab a sandwich in the cafe.

And that's only part of what you'll find at Yankee Candle Williamsburg. (Did we mention the 250,000 candles and over 150 famous Yankee scents?) Come see for yourself why it truly is an exeprience unlike any other!

Opening Holiday 2005

2200 Richmond Road, Williamsburg, VA

Can you say road trip? :cool1:

I was just talking to DW MeanLaureen on the phone. She's on her way back from a convention in Williamsburg and she said something about "Wow, coming soon, Yankee Candle - that's the biggest Yankee Candle place I ever saw!" Funny that I come to the boards and see this thread!

I've been watching them build the place for MONTHS!!!! I'm pretty excited about it, and let me tell you...it looks HUGE!!! I simply can't imagine a Yankee Candle store that big! But, with all that "interactive entertainment" I can understand it better now!

Cool!! It will definitely "fit in" in that Williamsburg corridor...

I'll have to remember to go up there when it opens and take pics! :)

So isn't anyone going to ask me what candles I bought? ;)

I got two large jar candles in Pineapple Citrus and Sugar Cane & Vanilla!

I'm burning the Pineapple one now and it's so nice! Not too strong, I think it's just perfect!

I saw the artists concept on line and it looks great. I am betting it will be even more spectacular than So. Deerfield Ma. which is about an hour from me. Be sure to go near Christmas if you can because up here they have a whole take a picture with Santa area, no charge but you need your own camera. Also if they ask you to fill in a survey jump at the chance. I did one a couple of years ago and got a whole melter gift set worth 19.99!! I always try to see if there are any people with clip boards because it was well worth it.

I have been to the one in Deerfield, MA and now one is coming near me....oh my! Oh, Sandy.......do I hear a girls shopping trip coming up near the holidays???

Does anyone know if this is at the Williamsburg Pottery Outlets?

When you go take pix so those of us who live near Deerfiled can compare. I bet yours will be better. I KNOW there is no way on a driving trip to WDW that my son and husband would let me stop.

No, it's not at the Pottery...and it's not at either of the other outlet centers (Prime Outlets, the Outlet Mall)...

If you are familiar with Williamsburg, there was an old hotel that sat on the site (can't remember the name now...maybe Martha Washington?) but as you are heading out of the city on Route 60 (from Williamsburg TOWARD the outlets) it's on the left at the end of what I call "the strip"...just as it begins to look a little less "touristy" ;) It's across the street from an ice cream place.

Coming from the Pottery towards Williamsburg, it's probably about 5 or 6 miles down the road.

When we went to Williamsburg last month we stayed next door to the Yankee Candle building. It is so big that I couldn't even imagine how it would be a store. Thanks for the description!

Once I figure out where it is and when it is opening you betcha! I am not familiar with Williamsburg at all. I know how to get to Busch Gardens with my eyes closed though. Went to the Pottery about 18 years ago and know it is in Lightfoot, but beyond that I am lost.

hiwaygal, I will have to mapquest it as I have no clue where that is. I am surprised I hadn't heard about this sooner, but sure am glad that I did!

I doubt it's too tough. I once used map quest to get to Lands' End at the outlet stores. Can't be too far. :)
