This is my first time using yankee candles, and I know they are very popular, but I bought one at the yankee candle outlet yesterday and when I burn it, it isn't putting off any scent. It is a country kitchens jar called crisp apple and its the largest jar they have. I have in in my apartment living area but I can't get any smell. I lit 3 partylight tea lights in another room and they smelled up the whole apartment in no time flat. I've tried testing it too. Both my husband and I have taken the dogs out for 20 minutes or so to really clear our noses to see if we can smell it when we walk in so I know I'm not just used to the smell. It's been burning all day.

Anyone else have problems with them having a very weak scent?

I bought one at the outlet and it stopped burning with 2 inches left. I took it to the retail store and they gave me a credit towards a new one. I suggest taking it back to the outlet or the store for an exchange.

I still love Yankee Candles, but Bath and Body Works has a couple of scents that I love and I have found their candles just as great as YC. They have their 3 wicks two for twenty right now- reg 19.50 each.

I plan on calling them tomorrow when the store is open again, I don't think this candle is burning right or something. I mean if I stick my nose in the jar I can smell the scent fine, and obviously I was able to smell it yesterday when I bought it!

Have you ever tried the bath and body country apple candle by any chance? I'm wondering if it smells like the lotion, I'm scared to order it because I ordered one of their plug in scent things in country apple and it didn't smell like the lotion at all so I just threw it out. I don't want to buy the candle and hate it. I should check if I can exchange it in the store...

I used to love Yankee Candles, but now I'm very disappointed in their quality. They have greatly lessened the quality of their candles, and lessened the amount of fragrance oils used. The candles are not nearly as strong as they used to be, and many are so weak you can't smell them at all. There are also way too many problems with tunneling and soot. I wrote to the company about this last fall, and received their standard reply of "return them for your money back or a different scent". I would prefer they would go back to their old formula, and start making great candles once again. Their reputation is really beginning to suffer. I miss their old, great smelling candles. :sad2:

They do not smell like they used to! I'd say the scents are very weak now and candles don't burn to the end.

I used to like Yankee Candles, but even they lost their scent about 1/2 way thru. Now I love Domystyle Candles (the same company that used to make Home Interiors candles). I buy them at Kohl's. They stay nicely scented all the way thru. Yankee candles started out scented for me, but then they'd lose the scent.

Was it one of the "seconds" or discounted bad batch candles? I am always tempted to buy them because they are so inexpensive, but each time I have they dissappoint. I have not had any issues with the regular ones, still love those!

For the quality and price of these candles I think they are useless. I will not spend 20 bucks on a candle that is poorly manufactored in China. I work too hard for my money to spend it foolishly!! I buy candles that are locally made and they are not expensive and worth every euro cent they cost. I love the lavender scents, as that is the only scent I buy.

My Yankee Candles burn fine. I just stocked up on votives last weekend during their $1 votive and tart sale at the regular store--never been to a YC outlet.

OTOH, I have three Partylite candles I paid a lot for at a friend's party and they have no scent whatsoever, lit or unlit.

JJanice, do you still like those fake candles you got a while back?
