We kind of do this on our car trips. We grade the rest stop restrooms and gas station restrooms.

I thought we were the only nutball family that did this!! My mother had a small pad in her purse where she wrote down the exits from NJ to Florida with the "good" rest stops. Virginia always got high ratings, but then one trip they were really bad. She wrote the VA DOT when we got home!! She told them how disappointed she was that the quality had gone downhill. She actually got a nice letter back apologizing for the conditions and thanking her for taking the time to write.
We also always knew where the clean ones were in NYC. The Mariott Marquis in Times Square has gotten consistently high marks. 30 Rockafeller Center used to have good ones, but I haven't checked them out in a while.

This would be an excellent complement to my "trash cans of the world" website...for those who are picky about where they put their trash. I mean, you don't want to throw your trash in just any can, it's got to be the right can. For example, I never use Tommowland cans because I once threw away my nachos and the trash can yelled at me!

DW and kids always thought me crazy because i love the diff cans. i saw a few on ebay before but was afraid to bid for everyone thinking i was insane.
